Are these mods or new items

So I was in the wiki page and came across these items and wasn’t sure if these were mods or new upcoming items which I have never seen before. Because I’m on PlayStation I don’t know anything about mods, but anyways I appreciate if anyone let me know!

I could be wrong, but as far as I’m aware, the wiki doesn’t list mod items.

Can only hope these are coming to us console and official PC users.

Nice find. :+1:t2:

EDIT: I was wrong. They’re listed under a mod list. Crap!

Lol when I saw these I fell in love immediately

I had a feeling since I saw Emberlight stuff, plus that Red Sonja armor is based on the comics, which you don’t tend to see in the game. They’ve only really adapted movie and book materials… except for maybe the Valeria outfit which is similar to this.

Good find OP, i wonder if these are future Twitch drops?

They are mod items.

It does on very strictly labeled mod pages. Of course image files are less obvious…

Funcom owns the Conan IP, but not the Red Sonja IP. You will never see anything Red Sonja in Conan Exiles.

Yeah, there’s that too. Red Sonja from Howard’s stories was a different character altogether iirc. Different time period and everything and slightly different name/spelling. Also, the Red Sonja film never actually labels Conan by name.

This is a weird character. For the (Non-REH version) character with red hair and scale bikini armor, the Hyborian Age and Conan are canon to her stories. But not the other way around.

This one recalls an urban legend that Kalidor was an alias Conan used after becoming King of Aquilon but still wanted to sneak out for adventure.

I think that’s only if you consider REH universe. The Marvel/Dark Horse universe is its own thing. That’s why the adaptations aren’t really used. Some stuff gets used as inspiration, but for the most part, it’s not part of CE.

Yes. Red Sonya of Rogatino (from Shadow of the Vulture) was a 16th century Polish-Ukrainian adventurer/mercenary who fought in the Siege of Vienna in 1529 alongside the protagonist of the story, Gottfried von Kalmbach.

Marvel later made an adaptation of the story, turning it into a Conan story in the Hyborian Age, and turning the sensibly-armored pistoleer into the character most people think about when they hear the name. And as she basically became a different character at that point, she’s a different IP from Howard’s creations.

The Red Sonja played by Brigitte Nielsen in the 1985 movie was a vague attempt to make a Hyborian Age spin-off in a time when copyright laws were not quite as strictly enforced as now, by borrowing a Marvelized, Hyborian Age version of Sonja but claiming she was based on Howard’s character.

Funnily, as much as ol’ Robert E. Howard is accused of objectifying women in his stories, his original version of Sonya is the least sexualized of the namesakes. (And being admittedly hypocritic, as much as I find the depiction of women in 1970s and 1980s fantasy problematic, I’d still like to see Sonja’s outfit in the game.)

Red Sonja, noted as Hyrkanian, yet never been played by an Asian woman. Why?

Yup, I was right! Not bad going off memory! regardless, I’m glad marvel made her. It’s fun to see a badass female on par with Conan. She may have an “objectifying” outfit, but I think it works given the age she’s in.

Lol, yeah, it’s kinda funny. I always ask the same thing. Hyrkanians are based on Mongolians. Every one of them in the game is Asian. I recently got a Hyrkanian RHTS and named her Yargui the Formidable.

Lucasfilm should buy the rights. This would be right up Kathleen Kennedy’s alley. :joy:

Yargui looks lovely. :+1:t2:

Thanks!

I wouldn’t know about her… not a Star Wars fan.

I was, …until Kathleen Kennedy

I still don’t understand, but yeah! You do you! :sunglasses::+1:

Valeria, from Red Nails, is a canonical Hyborian Age character and fits the bill perfectly. Marvel did use her at least once in a sequel to Red Nails, but as I’m not really familiar with the comic book universe, I don’t know whether she starred in more stories than that.

But in Red Nails it is strongly implied that Valeria of the Red Brotherhood is a legend in her own right.

Of course, the 1982 movie had a character called Valeria who seems to have been a mix of Valeria and Bêlít and some generic female adventurer, which again adds confusion to what the actual Howardian women were like.

The Isle of Siptah Valeria is a pretty good version of her, even though the clothes don’t exactly match Howard’s description. (Marvel Comics actually got that right!) But she’s definitely the boss lady there.

Valeria’s cool and all, but I was more referring to the straight up no-nonsense barbarian loincloth vibes and raw strength that Conan has. She’s basically female Conan—except for the perpetual virginity thing. Lol…
