At the end of the battlepass .... daily challenges

Once done with the battlepass the daily challenges become obsolete which I consider a waste of game play.
So in order to keep the challenges worthwhile I suggest to earn Crom Coins for completing same.
In order to not compete with purchasing Crom Coins it would be fair enough to keep it low:
Common challenge = 1CC
Uncommon = 2CC
Rare = 3CC
Legandary = 5CC

Yeah, yeah I know doesn’t look like much but if someone plays a lot it’s worthwhile. I think it would be worthwhile in any case considering that the challenges are pointless once you complete the battlepass.

Have suggested before, do agree :+1:

It would be best if you could get more levels in the battle pass and with each level up you get 10 Crom Coins. That’s how you keep people engaged and motivated to play. Not with small updates (which not all players like) every three months. In this way, Funcom could also counteract the meanwhile greedy image.

I’d have the entire Black Lotus Bazaar inventory in about a day or two for free if they did this. :rofl:

Not even crom coins, follower exp, gold/silver bars. Or a random crate like what you get off sherpas

I’m completely and totally against this, because of the consequences you haven’t thought of.

Funcom’s top priority right now is to drive the sales in the Bazaar, so they can make money. Guess what would happen if they allowed us to make CC by playing the game?

For starters, no more BP progress in single-player or even on private servers. You would have to play on official servers to get BP XP.

Second, the way they balance the game would change. Right now, they’re at least trying to balance it around the quality of gameplay. They might not be doing a good job, but at least they’re trying. If you could make CC by playing the game, that would become the most important aspect of the game balance for Funcom. Every change they even think of making would first have to answer the question “Does this make it too easy for people to earn CC?”

Trust me, you really don’t want to get CC from the challenges. In-game XP for your followers, maybe, or some in-game resources like the ancient oboli or bloodstone or whatnot. But not CC.

Money poisons the gameplay.

I agree with you, most of all this :point_up_2:
The problem is, Funcom already poisoned the gameplay by bringing money into it in form of the battlepass and Baazar, worst of all, they’re killing us quickly with their greedy prices. Most of us just want a way to slow the bleeding and earning a small amount of Crom coins seems like a decent enough way to do that, even if the cost is that Crom coins can only be earned on official servers (and not in single player).

Even if they did it like that and restricted the CC rewards to official servers, we would still face the second problem, i.e. the shift in balancing.

If you think things are bad now, think how much worse they would be if every gameplay change had to be vetted against the Bazaar sales.

My sincere advice, even though it’s cold comfort, would be to not buy so much if you feel like it’s “bleeding” you.

I know it sounds cold, but I don’t think we need to pound the last nail into this game’s coffin just because people refuse to vote with their wallets. In fact, even though it might be harsh, I would say that anyone who is letting themselves be “bled” by BP and BLB – i.e. spending money despite feeling that it’s not okay – is making the problems with this game worse.

I couldn’t agree more. FYI, I haven’t bought a single thing from the Baazar because I am able to vote with my wallet. The balancing you talk about is something that potentially could be a problem (with Funcom’s track record for balance), but I think it’s a small price to pay to earn CC. Just because I haven’t bought anything from the Baazar yet, doesn’t mean I don’t want to. If Funcom gave me a way to earn a 30-50% discount via in-game play, I probably would open my wallet.

I understand that Funcom often struggles with implementing basic things, so I agree there is reason for concern, but not so much concern that we should object to them trying. Let’s not forget that other (successful) games allow this option without issue.

I guess this is where we have an irreconcilable disagreement, for the moment.

In light of their recent decisions – especially the disappointment that was the inaugural chapter of the Age of War – I believe the price is too steep to pay.

Yep. Which leads me to wonder whether a big factor in their success is that they are developed and/or published by companies that are capable of implementing that option without issue.

To put it succinctly: I don’t trust Funcent with this.
