Is there any good reason why I need 5 times more kills to level the Ymir building to T3 than any other religion? I mean, Derketo is absolute child’s play by comparison. It just so happens that my Ymir shrine grew right into my base when it was levelled up to T3 and I have to break it and start anew but I am really not looking forward to weeks of grind to rebuild it considering I can pretty much get a Derketo build up to T3 in a single session. Ymir needs something that allows us to get one zeal per harvested item just like the other religions.
So, for Ymir I get 1 zeal for 5 shards, at best, unless I mong out completely and make ice arrows for 1 zeal costing 10 shards. For Mitra I get 1 zeal for every lingering essence, Derketo gives me 1 zeal for every sliver of unfulfilled desire, Set gives me one zeal for every human heart and though I haven’t built a Yog pit yet I bet I get one zeal per harvested corpse. Why? It’s not like I even get anything useful for the ice shards from the Ymir temple. Bloody ice that is as useful as a chocolate teapot now that ice never decays in the fridge.
Come on, sort yours $#!£ out.
Probably a remainder from when Ymir shards came from harvesting wood rather than people. Unless someone hoodwinked me when they told me that story (I was on hiatus when Ymir was introduced).
Once you get Ymir to T2, start making the armor instead of the ice shards.
Only requires making light headwraps.
you get a 1 to 1 ratio, instead of 5 to 1.
Sure you’ll have a bunch of useless helmets after but you just throw it on the ground
Sir Mang thanks for a great tip!
You’re welcome!
It’ll be 5 ice shards + one light headwrap + 5 thick hide for 1 vanir something helmet and 5 zeal.
Instead of 5 ice shards for 1 piece of ice and 1 zeal.
The thick hide is the only tricky part if you’re in early game.
You could make the entire set of the armor if you wanted, but it’s pretty useless and you’d never wear it.
yeah it’s just crazy and it’s been like this for a VERY long time, even though it’s still a bit better than when the ymir religion first lauched during EA.
How can that be so hard to put all religion on par in term of upgrades costs?
Anyways, do as sirmang advised you and use that trick for every single shrine you want to upgrade, especially for set and derketo which have pretty sweet outfit for your ladies
Aye roro, It’s what I did the first time round. It just really gets my goat with the first bit. It is sloppy development, really sloppy.
Yeah the set and derketo armor works nicely for the dancing ladies…the ymir armor is just ugly, drab and pointless. Which is why I just make the helmets for easy upgrade on the shrine and then dump all of them. Actually my current T3 Ymir Temple has 8 helmets just sitting in it. lol
Just wanted to add that the helmets give 10 zeal, not 5. So you get a double return on shards at that point.
The issue still stands, however. To upgrade the shrine from T1 to T2 costs FAR more than any other shrine in the game, something like 300 shards to go T1 to T2, and for no good reason. I’ve also heard that you used to be able to farm shards from trees, and if that was the case it’s long past due for the upgrade requirements to reflect having to harvest them from corpses like every other religion…
It is 150 from T1 to T2
If it is true that you get 10 zeals per headpiece summoning avatars is actually way cheaper than any other religion^^
I was wondering if anyone was going to get my reference!
Happy Birthday to the ground!
Oh it is? That’s even better. I thought it was 5. Maybe it was changed?
Which is nice on PvP and PvE-C servers but pointless in PvE, right?
