Battelpass Storage items take few too item types?

While I can definitely see why you want to limit the new storage items to thematic materials, I think it went too hard on the items?

The storage container skinnning doesn’t even take fur or leathers, only the raw pelts.

The woodcutting one is wood, sticks and bark and you can’t store shaped or insulated wood either.

i have a feeling they may be going after Raw → production … but it be nice if it took resin as well

I lost it today when I unlocked the baskets and it turns out you can’t place mushrooms or seeds in them. Like, come on, man!

I know i know funcom people arent the brightest around but the cool thing is you can add mod or make your own in mods if you want that kind of box

Many of us play on console, and we don’t have mods.

I honestly don’t understand why it’s not just a reskinned container. There’s no functional reason to limit what goes in, especially since it’s the same resources.

For me, the biggest disappointment was that the item doesn’t change visually when it’s full or empty. When I saw the announcement, I thought this restriction would happen because when you put materials in a chest/crate, visually the chest would have the items visible. As happens in the dryer when we put fish to be dehydrated, these chests could visually show whether they are empty or full. Of course, they wouldn’t show the actual quantities, but maybe 3 levels: empty, half full, and full. Something very similar, for example, to the safe in GTA Online. The fact that these storage items can be kept open would only make the experience even better.

I thought the same thing! I placed them for the first time yesterday (knowing about the material limitations) but, like you, was surprised that they didn’t have any visuals associated with them which I expected, especially with the limited item requirements.

Can probably expect more in the future for all different raw ingredients. The utility is accessing them, and doing a place all. Then only the relevant stuff gets moved and you can quickly empty your inventory in an orderly way. The visual changing if I had to guess is a potential performance issue… I seem to recall the bounty hunter pot displays skulls as you place them… nah, probably not related… O.o

Because it’s way better for sorting your loot! Just open it, select “Give all” - and literally all “wood”, “minerals”, “skins” or “plants” are where they are to be. Devs have to add mushrooms, vines, resin (maybe something more), make one more specialized container for seeds and seaweed clips, and it will be ideal for this purpose. I love new containers and would be happy to have more.

I would like to see more of these containers. Like someone else mentioned before it would be very cool if it change visually like the thrall pot.

Another feature I would like to see is customized containers.
Just give us 5 of the 45 slots of a normal chest to set filters what items are legal in this container. Something like how you tell your golem what he needs to farm.

I think they need to add my idea to the base game because otherwise the current battle pass storages give you an advantage with this filtered give all functionality :grimacing:

Ah, this is a great idea! I’d love to be able to set certain parameters for containers so I can dump and go. Using the golem coding that’s already been done sounds like a fantastic approach (though I may say more like 10 items, but that’s just me).

Having all containers be customizable so that they can: 1) either allow ALL items, or 2) allow a customizable list of 1-10 things exclusively – would be great.

In the absence of that, however, the new resource containers need to be widened slightly to include more things that make sense thematically.

The mining container should also allow any by-product you get from mining: salt, crystal, obsidian, ash, blood crystals, brimstone, coal, black ice, all ores, AND all ingots smelted from those ores. Right now you DO get a lot of these, but not all of them. Stone consolidants and bricks should be included perhaps too, as these relate to the finished products of stone-cutting too.

The wood container should be the same, allowing all by-products (like resin) and finished wood products too, like shaped wood and insulated wood.

The baskets should clearly allow vines, lotus of all types, aloe, mushrooms, seeds of all kinds, fresh and dried berries, every plant that can be used for dye-making, and also the finished products related to plant fibres, like twine.

The skinning/leather container should take fur (which is very odd that it doesn’t), and also all the actual by-products of tanning (like tar), and the finished products (leather, thick leather), bones, chitin, dragon bones and horns, and maybe even gossamer and silk as these relate conceptually in some ways as well – because all these items are about converting animal products into clothing or armour or weapons eventually.

I know where you’re coming from, but the problem is that what each accepts is very limited. You can’t even put the finished product of any of those items in (i.e., leather, shaped wood).

What they should just do is allow these skins + add a Golem-style bar that defines what can go into any given container up to 5 things. If it’s empty, it accepts anything. If it’s got anything in there, you can give all and it only adds those things in.

ETA: I replied to your comment with the above (same point I’ve made on Reddit) before I saw the two subsequent posts saying basically the exact same thing.

Maybe we’re on to something here, this would be a huge QoL improvement @Community
