Hello, I am on the exiled lands map on a PVE server with friends and all the information I find on google is either outdated or contradicts itself. I am looking for 2 bits of info.
The best 1 and two handed weapons on exiled lands.
The best setup for a fighter thrall as far as armor and weapons go.
I have the Sword of Crom and silent legion armor, and I am currently trying to farm for armor scraps to be able to make godbreaker and arena’s champion armor.
Sounds like you’ve got a pretty good handle on things already. The rest is up to you and your playstyle.
1 handed weapon for you as a player: Yog’s Touch is a classic, and that’s because its engage is really good and it has decent armor pen for an axe.
2 handed weapon for you: Spears, man. Spears. They’re ridiculous. Zath’s religious spear is good, venom-infused pike, even Mordlun from warmaker’s dungeon would work.
Player Armor: Go with what makes sense to you and your build. Light armor has the best stamina regen, medium isn’t as affected by encumbrance as the others, and heavy has the best armor values.
Thrall Armor: Heavy armor. No question. They’re not affected by the same things you as a player are, so there’s no penalty for putting them in the heaviest armor you can. Depending on your thrall, focus on vitality (for beastmasters etc) or strength (for berserkers, lians, etc etc)
But these are all my personal opinions. Other, more experienced PVPers may have different ideas.
1 handed, lemurian axe. Easy to farm and so on.
2 handed, spear, zath spear is the best since it applies poison and also have good damage.
mix spear with obsidian hammer, and u will do good.
For armours there is only one option in my opinion and that is light gear, silent legion mixed with Voidforged Dragonhide armor, is the best option right now.
Thanks for the replies, so is the sword of Crom still the best thrall weapon? Some threads say it has been nerfed others say it has not. Also I made an Error in the OP. We are a PVE server.
For me it totally depends what I’m fighting. If it’s crowd fights then I like a long sword. If multiple 1-skull bosses then a 2H War Hammer. If it’s single 1-skull boss then usually a 1-handed sword that will allow me to do those Strike+5-quick-jabs. If it’s a 3-skull boss then I sometimes need to know his strengths and weaknesses first - but usually it’s a combination of weapons Daggers, 2H War Hammer, 2H War Axe, Spear, Long Sword, and even in a few cases 5 to 10 stacks of javelins.
The same goes for thralls as for myself but one thing to consider are the stacked effects. Like if my weapon causes bleed then it’s better it the thrall’s weapon has cripple, sunder, poison or etc.
For armor it doesn’t really seem to matter beyond the attributes - and even that only to a minor degree - the differences which are generally only the time it takes to take down whatever you’re fighting. Fighter and Archers seem to be on relatively equal playing fields as far as their ability to use ranged or melee weapons. So just play to whatever perks they get. If the fighter for example gets good stats for ranged, give him a bow as well as a melee weapon, tell him to prioritize ranged, and give him gear that increases Accuracy.
There seems to be three “levels” (designated by ethnicity) for each of the four tiers. It’s been my experience that as long as the thrall is “level 2” and Tier 3 it doesn’t really matter if the thrall is higher than that - just as long as they’re not lower. Although L2-T3 may be slightly more at the mercy of his randomly assigned perks than higher ups - and also a bit squishy when below experience-level 10.
My favorite and most effective universal one-handed weapon in my experience is the Predators blade (only left-click). And for bosses - a poisonous axe from the Esoteric library.
Two-handed weapon - yes, Crom’s sword.
right now I am enjoying the flexibility of two kits
Vagabond complete set (get someone to get the scroll to you from Siptah becuase it is awesome in EL) because who doesn’t like Parkour and being all spidey.
Then also carry inn keeper pants and shirt, SL light gloves, and boots of serpent (same person can make this for you as well).
Helms can and should be switched around are dragonscale for any remaining temp issues, stalker mask because of night sight, mask of witch doctor for a +10 Surv) If you got that siptah contact, ask for aspect of the demon (but I just find it super cheesy since it makes your armor reduction so much more.
Yep. The thing I like about Conan Exiles is that there’s no one “best” weapon, as in the best in every situation. Different opponents are easier to defeat with different weapons, and this includes what you arm your thrall with. I choose daggers against some monsters, a spear against some others, axes or two-handed swords against crowds, etc.
Just don’t give daggers to your thralls. They love to backflip so much they’ll probably fall off the edge of the world.
They can’t now. Recently was a change regarding to thrall AI/movement, and they indeed could fall off of edges, most notably archers from towers/walls. Now that is gone again.
For my dancers and bearers I give all of them daggers (grey ones, venomous mostly). They don’t hit hard anyways, so it is their job to stack debuffs on my enemies.
