BETA - Cannot change building piece orientation before placement

Bug Description:

Cannot change building piece orientation before placement.

Bug Reproduction:

  1. Select a building piece, position it with ghost
  2. Attempt to change face orientation, i.e.: placing a wall and want to change the orientation of the front to face forward compared to how it is ghosting, backward
  3. No matter how much you try you can’t change the orientation, it remains oriented to the face it is ghosting in
  4. Unequip hammer and try again, only then will you be able to change orientation of building piece

See here this Stormglass fence foundation is facing inward, I want it to face outward:

This happens frequently but not always.

This issue was pre-existing.

Can change facing with trigger buttons on console. Don’t know what the equivalent key is for pc. Have you tried jumping out of rendering range or switching to a different building piece, then switching back? Or ripping out a couple of surrounding pieces in the section you’re attempting to build in?

It’s keyed to middle mouse wheel and I believe directional keys on keyboard as default. When in this state, nothing works to change the orientation except such workarounds.

I know it is low priority compared to other bugs because of easy workarounds. If I recall it was a problem even before build hammer.

Just annoying and not working as intended.

Try repositioning your character so you’re practically right up against the fence foundation in first person mode and then try flipping it. It’s what I had to do to get my Nemedian fence foundations to behave

Way quicker to press unequip = requip hammer hotkey twice XD

Either way, shouldn’t have to do any workarounds.

If I build in Nemedian I’ll take note if that bug presents itself though.
