When equipping any shield, with or without any armor, I actively block enemy strikes and I take 2 pts. - 4 pts. damage instead of full damage or no damage. This happens with all enemies, creatures, boss creatures, AI exiles. This happens with all weapons, and all strikes, not just the ones that are supposed to defeat blocking. I read the January update, and what others are saying about it, and I don’t see anything about this being intentional. Is this how shields are intended to work? Are they supposed to block most damage, but allow a tiny bit to pass through? Thanks in advance.
Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:
Craft and equip any shield
Find any enemy, exile, creature
Block any attack with your shield
Take 2 pts. - 4 pts. damage with each strike you block
Welcome to our community and thanks for the feedback. Losing HP while blocking with a shield shouldn’t be the case after 2.2. We’re relaying this information to the team so they can look into it.
I can confirm this.
On an EL-privat server with 19 mods. Some of them changing combat mechanics.
But same thing on Siptah, with only 4 mods, which shouldn’t change anything like this ( Hosav’s custom UI; LBPR; CharEditLite; CAS).
It seems, that if you block successfully that:
about 30-50% of the “real” damage will be changed into stamina damage, and about 10% damage pass through the block and reach the target.
So, from a Mob doing around 100 damage, the player gets 30-50 stamina damage and 10 HP real damage. I testet this only for PvE. Can’t say anything about PvP.
Tested with an Archeronian Shield on lvl. 60.
We’ve been gathering information from other players with similar reports, and all seem to point out at this issue being caused by mods.
It is most likely caused by BPGameItemWeapons having wrong values:
OnBlockHealthDamageDeflection should be set to 1.
