This was reported in the xBox forum but I did not see an indication of a PC Bug Report

Thrall shields takes damage when blocking

Steps on how to reproduce issue:

1. Equip thrall with shield
2. Aggro your thrall onto an enemy
3. Check shields durability when thrall blocks attacks

I experience the same. At the moment a shield is the only equipment among a thrall’s possessions that gets damaged.
I play on a modded private server, but the OP does not!

I’m seeing the same thing. PC single player, no mods.
