“Blood” can now be written in-game, but several other silly words are still censored

Basic Info:

Platform: Xbox Series X
Issue Type: Other
Game Mode: Online Private
Server Type: PvE-Conflict
Map: Exiled Lands
Server Name: All of them

Bug Description:

I noticed that “blood,” a word that has been censored on xbox since time immemorial on this game was finally fixed so we could write it. However there are a lot of other words that are still not useable. “Eyes” for example. Now that I know that banned words can be edited I’m hoping you will fix the others.

Bug Reproduction:

Use an Xbox to type the word “eyes” on a note or in the admin panel. You will get a notification telling you the word cannot be used. There are several other silly words that are banned as well that should be looked at. If I find a comprehensive list, I will link it to this post.

The censorship is coming from Mircosoft. You need to be writing this to them, not Funcom.

I haven’t seen this kind of censorship anywhere else on an Xbox game or online messaging. I’ve heard people say what you have before but I’ve never heard it confirmed by someone who works at funcom. So until that is confirmed, your answer is pure speculation at best. Considering some of the words have been fixed just as this update came out I don’t think this is Microsoft’s doing as they don’t work on funcom’s update schedule. Granted this is also speculation.

Greetings @Nethermore ,

Thank you for sharing this with us!

Xbox has a “Message safety” setting where you can choose different levels to protect your account.

Can you, please, verify if you have any of this settings and verify with the Microsoft support team?

Thank you in advance!

Hi @ZahMaiatt,

Thanks for the response,

I’ve checked my settings and it says all xbox message safety settings are set to unfiltered, while also allowing hidden content. Basically nothing is censored.

Everyone on xbox who plays this game has the same issue with blocked words that shouldn’t be. This is on every game mode including single-player.

Games for children like Minecraft on Xbox have censorship as well, but still allows words like slave, eyes, and blood to be written, I’ll attach some examples in a moment
