Broken thrall's fight, horse ignore danger (Partial solution)

If you notice that your horse does not run away from danger, but stands under blows and takes damage. If your thralls fall asleep during combat, then they are affected by this setting.

SOLVING:
Disable the new “Auto Face Forward on Attack” option, which was introduced in the last update.

Turn off this!
Settings - Gameplay - OFF (Auto Face Forward on Attack).

I use 2 thralls and 1 horse in my team. When the “Auto Face Forward on Attack” option is enabled, the horse does not run away FROM danger, but gets damaged and the only thing it does is whinny plaintively. Probably, the system constantly turns her around to face danger and she simply cannot escape from it.
Now about the Thralls. One of them (randomly) or both are constantly sleeping. Probably, the thrall’s guidance system is in conflict with this setting. They come to life only when the enemy hits them.

The only solution that I personally found as a client is to disable the “Auto Face Forward on Attack” option in the settings.

Can it be turned off in setting on official servers?

Yes, this can be disabled in the client part.
At the moment, I am suffering from constant crashes and testing ways to solve bugs on the official server #6422 (Siptah, PVE, Offcial).
I have already found some solutions that the client can apply, until the Funсom make a real fix. If you can imagine that they will fix 10 bugs and not make 20 new ones.

That is the bane of my existence. Isle of Siptah servers crashing. Two in a row first got a level ten Sonja The Accursed killed, then deleted her corpse and inventory.

It’s even worse for me. Siptah, yes. I cultivate thralls from the very beginning, selecting those with an unnecessary characteristic = 40% (minimum value) or 45%. Only then do I start pumping thralls. I’ve already lost a few thralls. At the same time, I try to capture girls, even if we are talking about Cimmerian berserkers, and their chance of spawning is 1/3, that is, 25% girl vs 75% man.

Hey, where are the feminists? Where are they when you need them so much?!! We need an equal chance of spawn: 50/50 woman/man!!!
In the bad ass 25%/75%!!! )))

The problem is that this is not a solution - only a partial workaround. The ‘Auto Face Forward On Attack’ setting is the new setting introduced to provide PC players with the ability to fight again, after removing that ability in chapter 3. Unchecking that box returns the player to ‘locked facing’ making turning during combat (even between strikes) not function properly.

I realise this is intended purely to help people, but presenting this as a solution gives Funcom the excuse to not actually fix it - leaving players forced to choose between whether they want their followers to be able to fight (and mount not to charge into combat) or if they want to be able to fight themselves. Personally I would like my followers not to be broken and also to be able to fight without getting locked facing the wrong way.

Ok. Let’s call it a partial solution, since it doesn’t solve the problem, but it treats some of the signs.

Greetings @Leshiko ,

Thank you for sharing this!

Can you confirm this is happening in official servers?

Can you also let us know if you’re using any mods?

Server: Official 6422, PVE, Siptah
Mods: No mods.
Other players have been tested and confirm the behavior of thralls.
You just need to have two thralls and a Horse in your team and watch their behavior with the option enabled and disabled. It option definitely throws off the orientation of the satellites.

Thank you for sharing this!

We’ve forward this to the development team so they can investigate.

Greetings @Leshiko ,

Would it be possible for you to share us a video where we can verify the reported behavior and share it with the development team?

While recording this behavior, we’ll need you to open the Follower window and show the settings for your two thralls.

If you prefer you can send us a private message with the requested video.

Thank you in advance!

I’ve never shoot a video and I’m not going to do it. Have I not described the NPC’s behavior in enough detail? Unfortunately, my language barrier forces me to use machine translation, which causes additional inconvenience to communication. If you had a Russian speaker on your team, we could work productively on discussing bugs without a language barrier.

Currently we have the influence of the player character settings on the behavior of the companions. This is either a direct effect or an update of frozen information processing.

I will also inform you that in the model of damaged points for monsters, we have a problem when the satellite is adjusted to a point that is too high, which it cannot reach. Apparently, the blow he received makes him reconsider his target.
In this case, developers need to reconsider the options for collision models for different monsters, taking into account the use of very different weapons. A classic example is the boss mammoth from the new quest Jhebbal-Sag. In some cases, the mammoth climbs onto skeleton objects and cannot be damaged even if the companion targets the knees. And when he is on the ground, the satellites can freeze because they have clearly chosen some high point in the model and cannot reach it with their weapons.
We saw something similar with the Giant Snake in past Battle Passes.

Same thing for me. But I only have one thrall on official pve c #1518. The thrall is “sleeping” and needs to get attacked to continue attacking… it is really annoying.

We do understand, @Leshiko , however this video would assist our development team to visualize and possibly replicate this issue leading to a faster solution as well.

If you could share what you’re seeing with us we would appreciate it!

I see that Funcom broke “the thrall’s combat session”. From this, they just hang up until the “RETURN” command is forced.
the thrall’s combat session = one mini-duel with some opponent, after which Thrall must choose a new target.

What we have at the moment.
“The thrall’s combat session” freezes until they finish it, that is, they sheathe their weapons and start a new battle session.
Thrall is sleeping - he can be woken up only in two ways:

  1. When he receives a physical blow (does not always work).
  2. When the player presses the “RETURN” button.

The “Attack”, “Run” command does not work if “the thrall’s combat session” depends on the stage of the weapon being drawn - he does not sheathe the weapon, he simply suffers a blow, very often stands and receives a lot of arrows.
We’ve been having a problem with broken slave combat for a month now. Can Funcom stop picking his nose and start fixing this?

@ZahMaiatt

I have this same issue and have posted 3 videos for your devs in my post: Thralls don’t obey aggressive setting

what do u guys not understand?
the forum is full of S***!

  • remove the last combat changes
  • remove the new inventory system
  • remove the new UI
    done!

no need for more explanation or video or anything! read the forum or start up the damn game!

Tried this on PlayStation and it didn’t do anything. My thrall still just stands there. It’s gotten pretty bad, to the point that it’s like after almost every combo or kill.

Hey, Funcom!
For more than a month now, players have been experiencing difficulties with this bug! Try to move your lazy fat ■■■■■! At least try.
