[BUG] Cannot place boxes and chests on shelves after PC Hotfix 20.09.2018

After the PC Hotfix 20.09.2018, I am unable to place a large chest or a small crate on a shelf. The game alternates between “Not enough contact with the ground” and “Overlapping with another object or terrain”, regardless of where the shelf is placed, what angle I’m approaching from or whether auto-align is turned on or off. This used to work before, because I have numerous chests already placed on shelves in my base.

Repro steps:

  1. Place a shelf on the wall.
  2. Try to place chest on the shelf.

Expected result: Chest placed on the shelf.

Actual result: The game does not allow placing the chest, alternating between “Not enough contact with the ground” and “Overlapping with another object or terrain”.

Additional details: I’ve managed to place the chest, once I swapped my bearer pack for a light turban. No idea why that would be a problem, but that seemed to fix things.
