Bug. Gold coins deleted from furnace

When making gold bars into cold coins it will erase gold coins after reaching 85 coins in furnace.

Steps on how to reproduce issue:

  1. Put gold bars in furnace with coin mold
  2. Craft gold coins until it makes at least 85 coins, the next craft of 5 coins will erase the 85 already made and replace it with 5 coins.

4.way around this bug is to take the coins out of furnace before it reaches 85 coins in stack.

Sadly this is not a bug, just intended functionality.

1 bar + coin mold in furnace = 5 coins
30 coins in furnace = 1 bar

I don’t know why anyone would ever melt 30 coins into a bar, or what purpose it serves, but it’s a recipe.

To be safe never smelt more than 5 bars into coins at a time.

Is the furnace deleting the coins or just converting them back into bars?

He said 85 coins turned into 5 coins, so what probably happened is:

  1. Crafted 16 bars into 90 coins.
  2. Crafted 90 coins into 3 bars.
  3. Crafted 1 bar into 5 coins.

At which point he noticed that all of his coins were missing, and had 2 bars left waiting to craft into 10 more coins.

Out of curiousity why we’re you converting bars into coins? I ask because there are threads where people thought you got more gold dust from grinding coins so they tried to turn bars into coins. You get the same amount of dust. The only reason to turn bars into coins is to trade with Merchants in Sepermeru.

Why on earth are we able to turn coins into bars in the first place? Bars into coins - fine - coins into dust (not in furnace) - fine. Coins into bars…why?! Taking the info here at face value, haven’t actually done it myself (I have a grand total of 40 coins or so heh)

No idea what possible purpose you would have to turn coins into bars at all, especially at a 30 to 1 ratio. Feels more like a troll from the devs than any useful functionality, but check the wiki page (or spawn them into single player and try it yourself), it’s a legit recipe.

Oh I’m not doubting you, just flabbergasted it’s a thing more like. Maybe a leftover from before the grinder, not sure? As far as I know, no recipe uses the bars directly, so there’s literally no reason, ever, to turn coins into bars.
