If you find a base decayed on an official server is it fair game to loot it in PVE?
Yes take everything. My advice is get in and get out. Never go back afterwards. Never drop the base. If you destroy any part of the base it will show up in the owners event logs as u doing it. Dropping stables, animal pens, chests, work benches etc does not show up. Good luck
I had to drop doors to get in.
Doors are ok.
Yes, it’s OK to loot a decayed base.
If you leave a decayed base alone it will disappear anyway. Looting it will at least make sure that it all doesn’t go to waste.
If the base owner returns, you could choose to give them stuff back. If they just quit playing on the server, then you got some free stuff.
I would say…it depends.
Well, firstly, I should say, I personally agree with the above consensus.
However, bear in mind, people don’t always see things the same way lol
I have had one entire base (which represented 3 weeks of work) demolished in retaliation for dismantling two (what I took to be abandoned at the time) work benches on a random platform in the noob river.
I took it on the chin and transferred away to a new server to start again, only to basically end up in the same situation, lol.
Recently I dismantled a 6 block shed that was near my base. Turns out it belongs to this clan group that have no name as their clan name (I mean literally its blank) - So from my POV it was:
- Decayed and abandoned.
- No actual name as the clan name = no owner
Anyway, I currently now have this clan stalking me around the map and trying to catch me out so they can dismantle my little hovel, they’ve already been kiting creatures into my little base deliberately to kill my thralls, ![]()
Its funny, and weirdly entertaining , but not what I expected from a PVE server ![]()
(I figured it would actually be a nice relaxing change of pace from the PvP server I had been messing around on)
So, really it depends, some clans / people see it as an attack, so be careful, because if a clan interprets it as an attack, it can escalate.
They can’t do that with my methods. I only put thralls out during purge and I have it set up with sniper thralls. I also don’t leave my base unlocked and they can’t climb over my walls. I think I’m safe I didn’t demolish ANY of the actual building just the doors and benches. It was decayed and rather than just watch it go to the void I made a choice to grab it. I wasn’t letting 15+ T4’s disappear into oblivion.
A couple of people logged on thinking someone on the server looted their base it was a different one than the one I seen decayed. It fully went poof into the void this morning only thing they had left was their T4 fighters.
Sounds like you’ve got it all figured.
But like I said before. The first time, I only dismantled an amour workbench and an artisan bench, and yet the person still retaliated by destroying my entire base lol (and it wasn’t a shed heh)
However they got lucky since I had some family business to attend to and hadn’t been able to get online, so it was vulnerable to decay. So live by the sword, die by the sword, right? ![]()
I don’t have that problem I’m good.
Yeah, what tier are your thralls? Three or four T3 thralls at level 0 or two T3 thralls at level 10 can beat the most of the toughest bosses in the game.
I leave mine out and on guard but they form a wall around my base that no boss in the game will get through.
Well, they killed a newly ‘bred’ horse I hadn’t even used him yet, and my main thrall (a level 18 Beserker)
Again, they got lucky there, the night before I was ‘thrall hunting’ and logged of and forgot to swap the thrall’s weapon back. (so she ended up having to fight a reaper hive queen with just a truncheon ) sadly she died.
Entirely my own fault, though to be fair I wasn’t expecting to get as much grief as this on a PVE server, lol
Won’t happen again. ![]()
