Hey funcom, can u do it like this for your next building game!!?
A. players can buy one of 3 land claim sizes, small, medium or large. each with their own upkeep rate.
B. one land claim per account (maybe allow 2 max sorc TP’s per account also, for example).
C. limit building to specific areas, no path blocking, not point of interest blocking etc.
The building requirements that you are seeking can absolutely be accommodated by a private server. Pay to host a private server, and then you can enforce the building rules any way you want to.
It’s not clear to me why you would ask for the game studio to limit this across the entire game.
so you can encourage the largest number of people with varying interests to play your game.
In dune awakening it looks like they’re doing this with varying mechanics and more than one base per account, tho they should consider limiting that.
I hope they stick to this idea + don’t create a bugfest like CE. The blueprints idea looks pretty innovative too i gotta say.
So: A = in, B = out, C = undecided
Wont will work since people can use alt accounts to build , builds are no the problem
G-portals are the problem.
In ark i can have 100 tps 20+ bases and almost no lag also theres no people crying in forum asking changes in land claiming rules 1st because the rules are very simple.
2nd because the servers arent sht like
the g-portals
You always can change your server and try find one empty but you wont will find a server with less lag because of g-portals.
If you dont like how many builds or tps have in official servers you can change to single player , privates or rent a server for you too.
well the horse has bolted on CE, nothing can fix it now
im talking about future games, and it looks like dune awakening will be a lot better thought out than CE was.
and if as you say its the servers that are the problem, then we are all doomed lol, because funcom may use g-portal for dune too.
You shall pray for all GODS for dune dont be hosted in G-portals.
yes im sure there are some problems with g-portal, i agree, but it seems CE is very un-optimized and full of bugs, so who knows whats really causing all the problems.
at least in dune you cant make a mega base and just walk away for a week and keep refreshing it.
I pray for Dune to be hosted on same servers, let dune players feel same troubleshootings.
