The water surface acts as an impenetrable barrier for item interactions, players should be able to interact with items below water without having to get in or move the camera below the water line as sometimes that is impossible.
While dragging a Thrall I accidentally stepped on the closest edge of the shoreline that happen to be deep enough to start a swim animation thus releasing the thrall, I thanked all the gods of Conan it didn’t just blink out of existence, but…
Although the unconscious thrall is literally at the edge where the water meets the shore there was no way to start dragging the thrall again. I could literally walk completely around the thrall as the water was not deep BUT as the entirety of the thrall was just below the surface there was no way to interact and ropes can not be equipped going under water.
This also is an issue with looting items or your corpse in shallow water were it may not be possible to get below the water surface.
Steps on how to reproduce issue:
- Drop, leave, find any item, thrall, or corpse under water surface
- try to interact while above water regardless of distance
- fail
