I want to confirm that I am experiencing the exact same issue.
Platform: Steam Issue Type: Bazaar / Crom Coins Game Mode: Singleplayer Mods: Disabled completely for testing New save: Yes Steam Overlay: Working normally (opens with Shift+Tab)
I have already tried all common troubleshooting steps:
Disabled all mods
Started a completely new save
Tested in singleplayer only
Restarted Steam and the game multiple times
What is especially important: I was able to purchase Crom Coins successfully just a few days before the current sale.
The problem started only during the active Crom Coins discount.
The error message is always the same:
“Failed to buy store item”
I also posted about this issue on Reddit, where a few other Steam users reported the same behavior, so this does not appear to be an isolated case.
I contacted Funcom Support, who redirected me to Steam Support.
Steam Support confirmed that the issue was forwarded internally, but then advised me to contact the game’s support team again, as this likely requires action from the publisher / Bazaar side.
At the moment, players are effectively being redirected back and forth between Steam and Funcom, with no clear resolution, while a time-limited sale is ongoing.
This seems to be a server-side or Steam–Bazaar integration issue, not related to mods, save files, or local configuration.
I hope the team is aware of this problem, as it affects players who are actively trying to support the game by purchasing Crom Coins.

It is exactly something in Bazaar-Steam connection… And yes, directly after CromCoins action-resale began… Quite frustrating…
I just checked this after deinstalling all my mods and veryfying installed files integrity.
Nothing changes. Two days ago there was some Steam “downfall“, but they say tht now everything is fixed. Well… Still waiting for FunCom answering…
I’ve tried to connect from different locations using VPN and it didnt work still.
I’ve got reply from steam support:
We’ve reported the issue to the publisher. Unfortunately, we do not have the timeframe for resolution yet. We can only advise testing periodically to see if it resolves.

I didnt receive any reply from Funcom to my last request but I’ve managed to buy Crom Coins today all of sudden without any problem. The error seems gone. Maybe you should try to.
