also i tried fixes people suggested on other forums equiping a 2hand in slot one dieing with nothing on my bar and still cant add some tools my star metal sickle will add but thats it.

i cant manually add any tool to my tool bar thats in my inventory. if i spawn from admin panel it goes to bar but if i take it off i cant readd it .

we were just playing normally and i had to switch monitors so i quit and switched monitors and relaunched game and i couldnt add my tools to my tool bar
I confirm that happened to us today.
Didnât play for over a year. Today decided to rent a server from gportal again to show the game to my colleagues.
We just canât equip any tool anymore so the game is basically unplayable.
Not very pleased to see that things didnât change much in the exiles lands
I can confirm that that does not happen to me. I have no issue dragging or even Shift-Clicking (LMB) to move a tool (hammer/hatchet/etc) from inventory to toolbar.
You appear to have mods installed? It If you do, is always useful to list them as someone may have the same issue and it turs out it was mod-related.
I personally donât. This is full vanilla gportal server with newly installed game.
We started playing yesterday, fooled around by the river until we realized we couldnât re-equip all the tools we removed from hotbar. Consequence: impossible to farm anything.
Additional info:
There might be some duplicated items. I started the game and realized i have 2 waterskins. I think thereâs only one to be picked in the desert. Maybe some other items too⊠i honestly didnât micromanage my inventory but some stuff did seem to be redundant.
Also: tried to empty my inventory, remove bracelet, restart game, that kind of things. Didnât work.
I wonder whether thereâs some lag or something messing you around? Most players have no issue with equipping so itâs a âYouâ thing unfortunately. Keep trying I guess. I guess you could check your key-bindings too in Settings? Good Luck!
You cannot put on any armor or put items from your inventory in boxes or workbenches (the item âflashesâ and comes back);
You cannot dress or equip your character.
It is necessary to disable all sorting options in the inventory: select the âno sortingâ option.
In your inventory, in the workbench, in the chest - everywhere. A mismatch of sorting leads to an incorrect definition of the subject.

Itâs a bug - thereâs a whole bunch of people reporting it. I guess Grymm just missed a lot of the posts on the topic. Hopefully it may be one of the bits addressed in the upcoming hotfix.
