Ceiling won't snap to wall with a crenelated wall on top of it

Ceiling building block will not snap on to a wall that has a crenelated wall on top of it. If the ceiling is placed before the crenelated wall is placed on top of the wall everything works fine. The blocks I tried this with were the sandstone ceiling and arena ceiling. The stability of the wall is 100% and I tried relogging but it didn’t solve this problem. This is quite a frustrating discovery after I just got done placing all the master crenelated walls around my base. Also the server I am on doesn’t have any mods.

To recreate this:

  1. Place a foundation block
  2. Place a wall block on it
  3. Place a crenelated wall on top of it
  4. Try to place a ceiling block snapped to the normal wall block

You mention in your report that you’re playing in a private server. Are there any mods installed in that server?

The server has no mods active. I tried to replicate this bug in a single player creative game and it behaved the same way there.
