Platform: PlayStation 5
Issue Type: Gameplay
Game Mode: Single Player
Server Type: Singleplayer
Map: Exiled Lands
Server Name: N/A
Bug Description:
The recent multidirectional combat feature, i.e.- the ability to change swinging/attack direction mid way through a combo does not seem to be working as it should be anymore.
Bug Reproduction:
initiate a como swinging/attacking in any direction, forwards for example
during the combo, let us say on the second, third or fourth hit, push in a different diection to switch to bitting an enemy alongside or behind you
notice that your character will still only keep hitting in the starting direction for the remainder of the combo
*Adendum- please fix this one Funcom it was such a great addition which made the combat feel more fluid and enjoyable.
I have not changed any settings for quite some time now, so probability indicates a no on that one @Dzonatas. Not unless the default was changed in a recent update. But I am still happy to check to rule it out. I have never really messed with it, so which menu was it in Dzontas, regular Setting or Server Settings?
If memory serves me correctly, I could have sworn that @stelagel perceived this issue too, did you mate…?
Same here brother, yes i had this issue too, but @Dzonatas is correct. By default settings the combat system was changed after the update alone. Someone (sorry i cannot remember now, maybe it was Dan) told me to change my combat settings and the problem solved. @Dzonatas whenever you can my friend cam you send a photo with the specific change Croms must make. @DanQuixote, was it you that suggested me to change my combat settings?
I believe it was - I am just glad that it worked (Chapter 3 was somewhat of a nightmare on PC because somehow the changes made locked us into line like that - but then, somehow, in the process of fixing it for us in chapter 4 (by introducing that option) they seem to have created the same issue on console - but at least it seems the same solution works…)
Perhaps I missed the telegram on this one. I will be sure to investigate and make any necessary adjustments after work this evening. And it was in the ‘Combat’ menu in ‘Server Setrings’ was it? Many kind thanks to all 3 of you.
PS- it seems like my thralls do this too, I wonder if the setting also affects them.
The thralls are a bit of a confusing one - I hadn’t noticed them doing it (but then, I’ve largely given up on them doing much of anything useful right now, so may just not have noticed…)
The settings you’re looking for are here (on PC) - but I’m not certain if you need them the same way round as we do, or if you need them the opposite :
@Dzonatas@stelagel@DanQuixote
Gentlemen, you all were indeed correct. I had failed to notice the inception of the ‘auto face forward on attack’ option and it was on by default. Deactivating it solved my problem, and the wonderous and intuitive change attack direction mid combo has made its triumphant return.
My humble thanks to all 3 of you for your wise council on this issue! Now @Dzonatas you called it first mate, so the Solution must go to you. @DanQuixote and @stelagel forgive my friends, I hope this does not evoke offence or dissapoint. This thread may now take its leave.
