Still unsure how they are doing it but on my server I have found a clan who has two names. It is not just the case of one person leaving/renterng as I even witnessed them building a new base with a different clan name than what was shown in the player menu.
Are you sure they aren’t simply signed-in from two PCs at the same time? I have several alts on the server I play on, some in other clans, and am frequently logged into two at a time.
I have a friend who does the same thing on one of the official xbox servers. He very often has two tons running at the same time. Each in different clans. One is in a private clan with his wife and one is with a group of his online friends.

I am unsure. They are all in the same clan and were even building under different names. It looks like the objects reset once server restart hits but they then relog and somehow change it again. So it must be the clan leaving thing but it is only a temporary thing,just super confusing if people don’t catch it in the AM hours.
Another possibility is that they are simply changing the clan name with some regularity. I’ll do this every now and then as a joke, and it causes any existing building to still show as belonging to the old name while the Player List and anything newly built shows the current/new name. At server restart, everything properly displays the current name until it’s changed again.
