Climbing Foundations Bug: When are you going to fix it?

Online Official | PVE | NA | No Mods | Steam

This has been a bug as long as I’ve played. I even stopped playing for half a year, came back, and it’s STILL a thing. Stop releasing “new content” until you patch existing issues please. Y’all make plenty of money, just fix the issue. Might even save money in your data centers, what with the decrease of potential complaints about it.

Anyway, the bug is, when climbing foundation pieces, the character gets to the top of the ledge, but “loses grip” and hops up about a foot, but not high enough to actually successfully climb the thing. Repeatedly spamming the jump key will work after 2 or 3 tries. But y’all implemented this thing called Stamina into the game, kinda tied it in with climbing and other rigorous activities.

We can climb walls just fine btw.

I found another thread that got zero attention, same problem:

Game mode: Online official
Type of issue: Bug
Server type: PvP
Region: EU
Mods?: No
Edition: Steam

Bug Description:

When you try to climb a wall and jump on top of it, most of the time my character wont jump up.
Instead my character just falls down…

Steps to Reproduce:

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. Please be as detailed as possible; the more details, the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:

  1. Step 1 Run towards a wall or foundation
  2. Step 2 Climb over it
  3. Step 3 If u dont hold W and smash ur space button, then ur character wont go over it… and instead just falls down

Bugs need to be reported to the Zendesk, but instead of trying to smash the jump button at just the right time, try holding the jump button, works every time.

This bug is known: Climbing, it's not working right

Basically, it’s enough if you hold the jump button before you get up. Your character should jump about 2 times and climb up. But yeah, you’re right - they should finally fix it, it’s annoying

Personally, I think that this is not a problem with the foundation but with your character. I don’t know how, but sometimes it happens to me that my character (perhaps due to some lag) starts to walk sideways like a crab and I am not able to turn the mouse. I can always fix it by turning on/off the “Controller Style Movement” setting, but every time this problem appears and I “fix” it, the climbing problem you described also starts happening - always only then. So in my opinion, it is necessary to look for the fault in this setting, something is clearly not working right there. However, it is true that there were some problems with this setting in the past, so I am not too surprised

Another fix forbthe crab walk is to…ironically…climb something and drop off.
