Coin Pile (the one unlocked along with coffer) should have reduced collision detection (like hay piles) so that we can better place them in our treasure room.
Fun fact: you can place them outside the coffer. I have a bank with valuable items other than gold and silver and treasures. I used one inside it.
I have no trouble placing the coin piles. You can even stack them on top of each other to make even bigger piles.
edit: I used creative mode for testing (no mods)
can you place them so that they pass through walls ? I mean, at least halfway.
I 100% agree, and suggested it in the beta also.
You can only place the piles up to very close to the wall. However, you can then place another pile on top of the first one and it will then go through the wall.
Ah I see, thanks.
BTW, reworking their collision mechanic won’t hurt.
Boo. I want a diving-depth pool of coins.
I mean, it cannot be a coincidence that they introduced the diving animation simultaneously with the coin piles.
As for this, I wanted to report that, as far as I’ve tested them, Coin Piles now have a better collision, which allows them to be placed so they’re partially through walls (forgive my bad english, it’s not my first language).
I would make their collision yet a bit more “permissive”, especially one each other.
But the main problem now is with other Treasures: basically, they cannot be placed so they intersecate with Coin Piles. I want my gilded harp to “emerge” from a Coin Pile, not being placed nearby, at a minimum distance of 30cm.
So, yes: they still need to be modified a bit.
ITs true, they have better collision. Also I placed down a heroic treasure chest, and then placed a coin pile which partially covered the chest. I thought this was cool, until next restart the chest had popped on top of the coins and looked kinda silly with very little contact surface…
