And I also thought of obsidian, I personally find that this resource is too badly exploited. We get it in the Volcano in very large quantities and it is only used for tools and weapons of no real interest

Boy, that was an excellent analysis.

I play on an Official PvE server and never really felt that the game is in need of constant balancing. My issue is the constant lag on Official servers when there are lots of people online at one time. It gets old when you keep ordering your thrall to attack and they just stand there swaying back and forth or when you run up to a Boss and attack it … keep attacking it … only to realize it is just standing there not attacking back. Yes, freebee Boss kill but kinda annoying. Is this not sort of an exploit? They should make this official servers constant lag a priority i mean … you can’t balance a game if server lag let’s you kill bosses without them reacting to you … but what do I know right lol

Anyway, I had the game since about FEB 2017 and some of the bugs you mentioned have been around almost as long. I never really notice them much on single player mode but online on an Official server, the servers kinda brings out the bugs.

As far as balancing goes … my issue with constant balancing (Or Nerfing) is when you put so much time into something … only to have it removed in the next patch. Example: Thralls/Teimos. Spent many hours leveling the Teimos Thrall fighter because it appeared to be the best thrall in the game. Had over 20 level 20 Teimoses ready to defend my base … what happens, they get nerfed (or rebalanced). Now its time to go find what the new best thrall in the game is …

I went to the Relic Hunter Treasure Seekers. Leveled over 20 to level 20 … spent all that time to level, gear them up and equip them … then they nerf them. Now time to do research again and see what is the best thrall for my needs.

I am now leveling the thrall I think serves my needs the best and they seem to be working great (for what I want on a PVE server) - the Cannibal Brute. I gets old when you spend all that time leveling up thralls to get your base defenses in order … are finally happy and about to move on to other things and then BAM! They nerf your base defenders and have to start all over again. This is PVE … my thralls are not unbalancing anything that hurt other Players! (I don’t think)

Someone mentioned Obsidian earlier. Yes they nerfed the heck out of the Obsidian weapons but luckily, the ones that had already been crafted retained their old stats and are still viable. Maybe what they should do it “Grandfather” in the things that you crafted or thralls that you trained and keep them as is (especially on PvE servers). Eventually some of the thralls will get killed off and will still need to be replaced but … nerfing or removing them all at one go is rough.

And what was the reason for removing the “Witch Doctor Feat”? I still have a bunch of corrupted powder (which again took a long time to gather) that I can no longer use.

Point being … in my opinion … if players spend hours and hours crafting certain things and leveling certain thralls … if you change them … let them keep the old ones as is and let the new rules/stats apply only to new ones yet to be created. If you decide that foundation blocks now require twice as many materials … you don’t destroy half a persons base during a patch because … well you are missing the other half of the materials and only had enuff for half. lol … Well, you get my point. Fingers crossed they don’t nerf all my future thralls … yet again! :slight_smile:

And … why do we have to lose all our buffs when we disconnect from server. That just happened to me earlier. Did all mine and thrall buffs … disconnected. Came back … redid all my and thrall buffs … and guess what? Disconnected again. lol … then server went into PING 9999 mode. CRY … AND … I had just cooked up a bunch of Shadespiced food for pets … a bunch … and was on my way to the fridge when I disconnected. Shadespiced food rots! It decays and server is in 9999 PING mode … guess I just lost all that Shadespice … more time wasted … lol …

I understand your feelings, I did several Conan Exiles experience (mainly PVE), and over different years and so I really felt this weakness of Nerf contant without balancing the rest, and also the visibility of bugs.

Regarding obsidian, I think he doesn’t find it’s place in the game at its fair value. In Conan Exilesi There are a lot (too many?) of different weapons/tools/armors with statistics that are too close to each other and a lack of progression that doesn’t make it profitable. And even if I love the visual of weapons / tools in obsidian then I prefer to see it used for other interesting things: construction or various objects (Ammunition / traps / unique decoration with bonus / sorcery …)

the only thing i would add as a caveat all the things others have bought in the shop/dlc/battle pass carryover to the new game as a thanks for supporting the game and not go down the hole EA did with the sports games.

Oh and this … the sinking thralls … this is from today … 7/17/23 … been happening for years … prob since they introduced thralls.

It has some nice idea, i miss the mention of the pvp and the building problems.
Should be rework PVP raiding. for example:
rebuild not allowed while someone attacking your base
lootbags from chests/stations should remain longer

Building is in a terrible state. I cant even write a list about it. It would be easier to write a list about what is working as intended.

I dont know whats funcom’s plan for the game in the future. Maybe they want to use their resources on their next game (Dune) because Age of War’s 3 phase should be one update compared to Age of Sorcery first phase. I hope they are planning to fix the game before its to late (but i think they are getting holiday instead).

If you dont know whats the problem you are not a master builder. While you are building foundations and walls there is no problem.
There are Left- and Right-sloping Inverted pieces. You cant replace it with other material, placing is half of the time blocked by nothing.
Last time i built: I got error while building a piece which not allowed to place in a position. After i removed them couple error later there was a flying building piece.
And you cant forget the flying base exploits which were never fixed.
They added new turanian building pieces and it took minutes to make one tent with them.
Funcom should know whats the problem with building. I wont make a list instead of them.

I had few issues with turanian building set indeed. Lucky me i have never met flying bases. Maybe cause that i don’t play PvP - there is no reason to build such bases.

Silence is the worst.

One hand - if players are silent and don’t report problems and exloits it can be difficult to recreate and solve problem.

Other hand - if people report about problems and devs ignore it, that’s painfull experience - why should i care, if it has no sence. If my feedback has no responce. Like, “I have reported problem 2 years ago and it is still not solved”.

P.S. Also, I’m not sure if average player will go to forum to report any problems - it seems to me that it should be person engaged in game, that worry about it. And i’m not talking about “AAAAAaaa Funcome you have BrOkeN EveRytHinG!!!1111!, **** u, I will NeVER buy Nothing, s**t,. Conan expierience never will be same, I’m leaving!11!!” - kind of feedback. There is also a lot of reasonable feedback at forum.

And that’s why I’m still editing the list (currently 72 edits :hugs:), it’s to complete with as much detail as possible, because a developer usually doesn’t play the game, but code and watch if it works more or less :innocent:

The method I know of for building fly bases is not an exploit (strictly contained within the game mechanics) but a hack (requiring third party software).

I’m not sure there is any way to build a fly base without this external software type I will not name.


Still, a countermeasure would be appreciated from Funcom ^^;

I’ll add my little note. The idea with treasures is not realized at all. Why are these items valuable? Just because we were told so? Or maybe it’s just crappy shiny trinkets?
Treasures must have value, that is, they must be converted into capital. And coins should not be minted by each player at their base, this is nonsense! Treasures are valuable because they can be sold, money must be paid for them. And any resources can be sold for money. And for money you can buy anything, up to legendary weapons and epic armor, mounts and thralls. Such a system would be much more interesting and logical.

Not sure if you mentioned it but … ever since Age of Sorcery we have had to knock out thralls for sacrifice. This is time consuming (considering the Sacrifice Animations take Waaay tooo long) … maybe shorten them … and back to my point … our thralls do not get any exp and don’t level by knocking out. Maybe allow thralls to get a tad bit of exp for knocking npc’s out also. That way we can level them as we do all the sacrificing. Maybe 10% of what killing would get them … something … :slight_smile:

Good idea ! I proposed to reduce the number of sacrifices for the improvement of the tome of sorcery, but I did not mention the animation time for the sacrifices which are indeed too long. thanks :slight_smile:

Update: Still more suggestions here, including an overhaul of knowledges. For those who are interested :cowboy_hat_face:

Good work! I like the idea of knowledges this way it brings more dynamics and the order is more logical and interesting. I see you reported the golem bug too :grin: , it’s so sad to recover so little resource

Haha yes, the famous golems… The idea is there but there are still a lot of problems :disappointed_relieved:

I wanna see snowstorms/blizzards up north, works similar to sandstorms, but it deala cold damage and freezes your butt.
