Conan Exiles can't read notes

I’m playing Conan Exiles, and I’ve put up with this for a long time but it’s getting annoying that I can’t read notes. I found one it just instantly(faster than immediately) closes itself. Says something about gossamer? probably some character talking about discovering silk I don’t know cuz I can’t read it.

Now with Age of Sorcery (any of the chapters) there’s an important note called “Dead Sorcerer’s Map” which I can’t read. The alleged map doesn’t even show up on my screen there’s a white square where the graphic should be for about 1/8 of a second. Then the note closes itself and I have learned nothing.

Steps to recreate bug:
1: Find note in the world.
2: Attempt to read said note.
3: Watch note instantly close itself.

I do but it was happening long before I started modding.

Well, just to be sure, if you are single player, you should back up your database, remove all mods and see if it happens with pure base game. You may even have to verify the integrity of the game files. Even if it was a bug before you started using mods, it could be that it has since been fixed and a mod is overwriting the old bug back into the game; or it could still be a very specific bug that affects you because of “reasons” (hard to say… I haven’t experienced the bug and sometimes bugs are hardware/setup specific). If you normally play on a server, just remove all mods, go into single player and see if it still is doing it there (again, you may want to reverify your game files after removing the mods). So once you have confirmed that it is indeed a base game bug maybe there is other info Funcom would need to try and reproduce it for a fix. Regardless, in order for them to fix it, they need to know for sure if it’s a mod bug or a base game bug.

Removed all mods. Went into Single Player. Used Admin Mode to spawn the map.and I feel a little sheepish. Turns out I could read the maps just fine… so apparently it did get fixed and they just never mentioned it in the patch notes… Time to figure out which mod is ruining immersion. lol
Thanks for the help! I’ll reply which mod so others having this issue might see it and not have to troubleshoot.

EDIT: Decided to edit instead and the mod for me was “LorestoneBugFixMay2018” which I think is now obsolete anyway? It wasn’t until last Tuesday(3/14/23) though. Hope this helps someone in the future and I’m glad to be rid of this problem XD
