For a month now we have the problem that during updates through steamCMD the connection is timed out. Already tried to contact steam about this but it referred me to a funcom zendesk help site that doesn’t exist anymore.
So my question/bug is if anyone else has similar problems at the moment, had something like this in the past or knows what is going on.
We have 2 root servers running the dedicated server launcher and both, with different ips etc, are having the same problem. Server restarts, update starts and gets stuck on the download. Everything was fine before, for about a year. Every patch/update went without issue.
this is the message from steamCMD:

we have no connection issues otherwise on the server, nothing changed the last months with our setup and we worked with our root provider to isolate the issue but nothing was found.
Thanks for the reply!
Yes i’ve tried the validate files but it didn’t change the situation.
Already heard from others with the exact same problem, they contacted steam and the only answer was that there was no issue on their end.
Already tried to find the issue with the support of our provider, but all tested connections seem to be fine.
I can’t add any direct help (really not my area of expertise) but I can provide some hopefully useful links.
The zendesk link that you were given is indeed out of date - Funcom has moved across to Helpshift - which is available here - unfortunately, since Dune released, it appears Funcom has stopped monitoring or acknowledging any questions via this method, so I don’t know how much use it will be (still worth a try though - since most reports of being ignored are from people trying to report hackers, so maybe they won’t ignore you since you have a different issue).
Secondly - there is a thread directly monitored by the guy who created the Dedicated Server Launcher tool - normally that would be the best bet for help with these sorts of issues. Unfortunately, he is on sabbatical until next January - but he did leave a couple of links in his announcement post that he suggested would be the best places to get help more urgently.
Sorry that I can’t do better than that. I hope you are able to find the help you need.
thanks for the help i will try the new link. ToolGuy was the first thread i looked if there were any other ppl with the same issue. This is why i posted a new thread. Already went to the Admins United Discord too. I read in Steam Discussions that the workshop is behaving weirdly for a lot of ppl. From removing mods entirely to not being able to download the dedicated server itself.
Sorry the links weren’t more useful. Might be worth trying the Modders discord as well, just on the off-chance that someone has an idea. I hope you’re able to get some success somewhere.
that’s okay, help is help and can always give new ideas to fix a problem
but it seems i have found a solution. Changing the ports from 7777,7778,27015 to 7780,7781,27017 fixed the issue for now
no clue why but it works and it’s too hot here for my brain to work proper
Not sure, just a guess. Are you running any other games on your server PC.
I have two PC’s set up solely for running gaming servers.
On one of them I have Satisfactory and CE running together. Satisfactory also uses port 7777. When using port 7777 on CE at the same time, it would cause Satisfactory to crash.
I changed the port number on CE (that was easiest) and no troubles since.
Even though your servers have different IP address’s they will still be trying to access the same ports on your router.
Maybe this conflict at the router was causing the ‘timeout’. Steam may have changed something at their end causing this problem to appear.
we’re using a hosting service, not running them at home and no other games on them just CE servers
the port 7777 shouldn’t make a difference afaik but the 27015 since steamCMD can’t connect and 27015 is used for game updates
but something is blocking some ports, even though DSL is showing normal access during tests
for now it’s working with different ports, but let’s see what happens in the future
the issue still persists
steam can’t see any issue and i checked again with our provider again and all connections/ports are fine
they told me both to contact funcom but i still haven’t heard any reply on my support ticket for 8 days now
