Conan Exiles Enhanced Common Issues and Workarounds

Greetings Exiles,

The following list includes some of the issues that you have reported since the game went live earlier today.
This is not an exhaustive list, but we will update it accordingly.

• Game not launching or crashing at startup
  • Please firstly verify the integrity of the game files on Steam. If that does not help, please rename the modlist.txt file located in ConanSandbox\Mods directory within your installation folder as some incompatible mods might be preventing the game from launching properly - This issue should be resolved in an upcoming hotfix
• Black screen on startup
  • If your client is hanging on the loading screen and is not progressing beyond a black screen after a few minutes, please end the task by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ESC and manually ending the Conan Exiles task. Restart the game and try again after.
    • This issue may be caused by hardware that is close to the minimum specifications
• Unable to connect to an official server with ping 9999
  • Please double-check that you are not trying to access an Isle of Siptah server, which were all merged into Exiled Lands servers as outlined in our previous communication.
  • For Exiled Lands servers, you can try to use the direct connect option and enter the IP address of the server. You can obtain the server IP from the game.ini file located in the \ConanSandbox\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\ directory within your installation.
• Can’t remember the server I used to play on
  • You should be able to find this information in the game.ini file located in the \ConanSandbox\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\ directory within your installation.
    Open game.ini , scroll down until you find headings for: FavouriteServers SavedServers . You can simply copy the IP and port number then direct IP connect to that server when you go back to the server browser in game.
• Unable to connect to any unofficial server
  • In Steam, click on Steam icon (top left corner of the screen), navigate to Settings - In Game and scroll down to the bottom where you will see the Server browser ping/minute. Change setting from 5000 to 500
  • Try deleting the bUseBuildIdOverride and BuildIdOverride lines in the Engine.ini file located in the \ConanSandbox\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\ directory within your installation.
• Linux crashing\error message on startup
  • The VC2022 installation should happen automatically now, but if you’re still seeing this please try to install vc2022 to Conan Exiles proton profile using protontricks, then it should load with proton 11 beta.
• Mods not loading or not available
  • While the process of migrating mods to the Conan Exiles Enhanced version has begun, many of the mods are not yet compatible with the new version of the game. You can track what mods can be used in the Conan Exiles Enhanced by filtering the version (Legacy/Enhanced) in the workshop.
