I nominated Conan exiles for the labor of love award already, before reading this thread.
Even though for the past two months my opinion of Funcom has been far down for not fixing the sorcery and thrall bugs which utterly disabled my main base and which I reported two months ago…
I honestly believe that the change in direction when Age of sorcery chapter 1 arrived deserves this award. That after all these years, Funcom didn’t give up on CE and instead decided to breathe new life into it. The difference from before AoSc1 to where we are now is huge. The devs deserve the praise.
Continued development costs money, no way around that.
They gave you the choice to spend or not to spend… how are they squeezing?
Most game Devs don’t give you a choice to spend on new content, they just upload a DLC and put a price on it.
Four regular posters come to mind who I think are ladies on this forum. In game, even better. Conan Exiles is quite balanced when it comes to gender parity compared to some other games.
Communication IS better. Funcom hired more persons over the years. Especially on PlayStation bugs section @Caroll, @Sarealac and @HighSaint are responding very quickly to players that suffer issues and show true interest to their problems. When i first visited this forum, dev replies were extremely rare.
After some time people had the clise almost bot answer, report on Zendesk not here. Now, not only devs respond and try to help here, but they help players on Zendesk urgency. So like you said, THEY KEEP TRYING FOR THE BEST! It’s obvious .
So true my friend, my best team mates in this game were always female, lol. They were following everywhere fearless, women rule in this game, amazing players .
They are squeezing, because they are greedy.
When you buy crom coins to support the development.
If you’re tight on money and you can afford to buy 1200cc.
Something will cost 1203 cc. Just so if you really like it you will have to borrow $ and buy more crom coins.
Agree. Some bug, bazaar and rework quibbles aside, I have derived 5.5 years of fun and enjoyment on this wonderful game, I am still enjoying it immensely, and have racked up more hours on on Conan Exiles than any other game I own. Impressive when I conaider I am usually a Survival Horror player. I love Conan Exiles!
@Croms_Faithful - Thank you for stating that.
The purpose of this thread was to ask everyone who is currently playing Conan Exiles to give the “Labor of Love” nomination to Conan Exiles.
Being mad about a change or a balance issue or the price of something in the Bazaar, really has nothing to do with that.
The Devs have put in a lot of work and time and expense to continue to give us fresh new content - FOR FREE.
No one is forced to spend 1 penny to get the content, if they so choose.
I am just saying they have earned this award.
Lets give them our nomination.
The players are spinning Crom parts and Lotus articles.
Even if not all of them buy and we did not summon it to do so, those who respond to the offers of Funcom finance the Games.
So this not free.
When we consider the prices plunged by Funcom, I would say without being bad liver that in certain cases there are abuse.
Your referral reminds me of GTA players who wrongly believe that the update of the multi mode are free, while in the Fits, they are largely funded by the massive microtransactions of the players.
Don’t be mistaken!
Just like you and all the players present on this forum I like Conan Exile, certain improvements and update my more skewed, on the other hand, it is to note that certain choices of déveloper my disappointed, reversal in the direction taken by These are made whole sections of unnecessary, obsolete and boring games.
Indeed Funcom continues to support Conan Exile with passion, but the question is: until? and why ? For love for Conan Exile and its communities? Or share love for money?
Playing on console and even having a steam account, I cannot vote anyway. I support your approach but remain septic as to the real motivations of Funcom. Good luck .
As this is one is on console and the vote is on steam, this falls squarely in the circus and monkeys of other persons category, but the arguments have been insightful.
When he said for free, I believe he meant that part
and that part
Which means, that even if you bought the base game and do not purchase the DLCs, items from bazaar or battle pass, you get access to additional base game contents over time, for no additional fee. In other words, for free.
Cortex is not ignorant of who ends up paying for the development costs of those said additional contents, he makes it quite clear: the players who choose to pay. It is very different from a game which, let’s say, adds new contents and makes it mandatory to pay a monthly fee to keep access to it. The day you stop paying the monthly fees? You get back to the base game you originally bought, without the additional contents, which become locked until you fuel the company with money again. For playing such games, I do understand Cortex’ statement when he uses the term “free”.
It’s a business. The only motivation of any business is profit, is it not?
Be that as it may, Conan Exiles is far from being shameful in its way of doing profit compared with other games and their monthly subcriptions. I do agree that the bazaar prices are way too high compared to a game with an open/free price market. Compared to other games with a closed/set price market? It pales. And believe me, I still wish for the bazaar prices to lower lol.
No, you explained it very neatly in your posts, be certain of it.
I’m not the brightest when it comes to this forum, yet you managed to make it crystal clear.
The only part of your posts which still feels nebulous to me is the technical aspect of the game (mesh, kb, stutter, scripts, numbers…). I am computer stupid, no matter how it is explained, sorry
That’s just too funny.
I have a tendency to get verbal diarrhea at times.
I hope current players realize just how difficult it is to put a game like Conan Exiles together and what it takes to find bugs and squash them.
I feel like the Devs have kept the player base at heart as much as tech limitations allow. It’s the over all design of the game that stands out to me. Options almost unlimited in game play, adding mod capability, just choice after choice for the players.
I honestly feel they deserve the Labor of Love award this year for the dedication they have given all of us.
Thank you and everyone else who has supported this thread. Your participation is so appreciated. “under his breath” Fan Girl
@Nemisis I’m not 100% sure what you meant.
Do you mean you don’t see Conan Exiles Progressing forward?
From Early Access to today, it has so progressed as far as content, it 3 times the game it was.
If you mean something else, I apologize, I missed your meaning.
Good morning .
So actually ConanExiles is constantly evolving without additional cost. But Funcom are not the only ones doing this.
Even if their updates are financed by microtransactions, for a large number of dedicated players the different updates and numerous additions of GTA content are free (I’m talking about tryharh players).
Stelaris, also brings important additions since the first day of the game to the point of almost becoming a new game.
Warframe has been awarded a modification and additions that the duration of this was multiplying by 10, the new content of this game and so conscienting that at times we no longer find.
I play on PS5 so the only subscription game that I know is FF14, if I get my subscription, I can no longer play at all.
The notable difference of the example cited here is that unlike Funcom the studios in question book important content and constantly renews without destroying the base of the game, without bug, and all reported bug are repaired during the day or the week in the maximum .
So yes Funcom delivers new content but to the detriment of the game and its community. They go in a direction and then without logical reasons changes their minds and ultimately delivers a half finished content. Hidden of nouvautés we made obsellete of the whole fragme of the game .
For example, the enslavement of NPCs, with the current work speed, the high wheel of pain is useless. The bats are unnecessary the anti -climbing systems, the abusive nerves of the NPCs enslaved the we make it completely useless in defense without speaking of the pet animals which suddenly become gadgets.
Not to mention the bugs present since 2017, new brought to each maj, the list of dubious decisions of Funcom is long. So yes they bring new content but by modifying the base of the game to the point that it sees whole part becoming useless or boring.
Constructing them bring content constantly, without bug and without destroying the game or at least its base and coherence .
I am not here to criticize, I simply notice facts. Jaime Conan I am still on it, but it is clear that the game always takes bad directions
Just because you don’t agree with some directions, doesn’t make them bad directions.
All the other players also have a right to their opinion.
I’ve seen this song and dance a hundred times since I started playing video games in the 90s. Oldtimers don’t agree with the new direction of the game, and become very vocal on forums. New direction however brings lot of new players who like the changes because they don’t have the baggage of knowing what the game was like before. End result is that the new players will outnumber the old. Game moves forward, whether oldtimers like it or not.
I completely agree with you, this is just my opinion. It is normal and even essential for the community of a game to renew itself, this allows for new blood and a new vision of the game (for better or for worse).
Funcom thinks they are right in the changes made to Conan Exile (as a general rule they are right) but they can go in the wrong direction and only time will tell.
For my part (my opinion) I believe that certain choices are not appropriate and I don’t like it despite the fact that I like this game and play it regularly.
