Conan Exiles: Let's Enhance Combat

Hey devs,

Man all of the changes have been great so asking for this seems a bit too much. But if you’re willing to listen I’d like to suggest a revamp of the combat, everything from the enemy npcs thralls/minor & major bosses, to our character- it all just needs a substantial change…

Combat is too simple, whether that is intentional or not I’m not sure. But if the combat can be changed, enhanced to match souls like combat where attacks have weight, timing matters, dodges and parries dictate the outcome- Conan Exiles would be fantastic.

Although, I do not want this to be a 1:1 souls like game, because I don’t want to narrow the audience with very strict dodge iframes and parry timing- I think both of those should be pretty forgiving. I am asking that dodges and parrying should be a thing and should matter, just not at a strict level. I still want this game to be fun, while also challenging so even old dungeons feel brand new and have more replay-ability.

And now with DLSS 5 (or at least experimental DLSS5) the game has hit its peak… visually but combat is totally off par (not up to standard). I hope you guys are listening.

Thanks

I agree. The combat has a good foundation, but they should give it another pass across the board. Better physics where it dosent look like mobs are sliding around or hovering above the terrain. Hits shoud feel more impactful visually and soundwise. Give all creatures more abillities so the fights arent as predictable. Remake boss fights. Make the AI try to break staggers with the dodge mechanics. Obviously this will make the game harder so give players more tools as well. I look forward to the quickcasting spells coming now, that sounds like it has potential, and could work like The Witcher’s sign system. adding a few activateable skills would make it fun as well. Maybe take some inspiration/skills from Age of Conan?
