This is a pure feedback thread, so there I’m not complaining:
I’ve tested a few builds with corrupted stats, and they are ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH.
My main build (no corruption) is:
STR: 20
AGI: 0
VIT: 15
AUT: 10
GRT: 5
EXP: 10 (yeah, I know one can stay with 5 as well, but I like to loot and it works for me).
I’ve tried:
+5/10 corruption in STR: not worth it.
Corrupted Perks are weaker than non corrupted ones and also you get a MASSIVE debuff on Health and Stamina,
+5/10 corruption in VIT: not worth it.
You have much less health than without corruption, passive regeneration has same efficient (maybe even weaker) and plus you have stamina debuffed too. The Chance to reflect damage is not worth the loss.
+5/10 corruption in AUT: not sure
Honestly, I wouldn’t trade that much Health and Stamina for those Perks (that, by the way, replace the non-corrupted one, which were nice too).
To be worth the malus in Health and Stamina, corrupted stats should have:
Bonus to Damage (STR), Health (VIT) and Followers (AUT) similar to non-corrupted ones.
This means that if you have 20+10 in Strenght, your Str Weapons should have bonus like you have 30 - or at least 25 - in Strenght.
Corrupted Perks should ADD to the non-corrupted ones instead of REPLACING them.
As for now, corruption is absolutely worthless.
I thought it could be worth just to cast sorceries without having to use Corruption Brews, but those stats suck so much that even then they’re not worth it.
Being permanently corrupted sounds like plenty of downside all on its own. So I’m not sure it’s true that corrupted perks are supposed to be worse, just different.
Whether they are worse I have no opinion on, the corrupted build does not appeal to me.
Every day before I log in I say…
Today I am going to go sorcerer.
I have to try it!
Every day something else will happen, but most of all my damn habits in this game, so I leave it for tomorrow . @JohnnyWylder thank you for providing this feedback, it goes against the “sorcery is very op”.
Still is it pve what you play?
Because the complains for op comes from pvp side.
All I know so far is that thralls without Authority are not for everywhere. Do not go to the wine cellar dungeon, don’t even think about it without Authority.
I didn’t try Zombies yet, but a horse lvl 20 and a Berserker lvl 20 cannot finish the final battle, they are both dead in the middle of the fight.
I believe until this weekend I will go sorcerer, we’ll see .
I’ve played corrupted builds since the beginning of 3.0 and this is very much true. I can live with low hitpoints, but the constant need to manage a stamina pool of ~80 is a pain. Not only in combat, but also climbing, running and other everyday activities.
VIT15 Corrupted perk is great. Immunity to poison (including environmental poisons such as Shattered Springs and the black lotus garden), bleed and even Sunder is sooo useful! I only wish it made me immune to Cripple too, because trying to fight against archers as an asthmatic old man is hard enough as it is without getting crippled.
It’s actually 0.1 points/second per point in Corrupted VIT. So when you unlock it at VIT5, it’s equal to the uncorrupted perk. If you go to VIT15 Corrupted, it’s 1.5 hitpoints/second. But the general lack of hitpoints is a problem in itself, of course.
I corrupted my Authority only up to 9 because I wanted to keep the level 10 uncorrupted perk. Still, it’s a +27 % damage bonus to my follower, instead of the Taunt perk, which I never found very useful.
I don’t have any experience with Strength, as I have 0 stat points there.
You’re only thinking of solo. A party of three with one corrupted sorcerer is more powerful than a party of three fighters. Lightning storm alone is worth 3 or 4 trebuchets for taking down bases.
Was very disappointed in corrupted stats and the overall feel / usefulness of sorcery. It’s not even mentioned on our server lately. Not a single player is using corrupted stats. I use some Sorcery now and again, but as I hate the UI for it (seems only good for gamepads), that’s a rarity. Sorcery brought me back to Conan, and we are having a blast, but if you could uninstall it like a bad DLC I’m sure we all would. Some great concepts, and bits we liked. I loved the theme / feel of it. I’d keep the flavor and redo much of the mechanics.
I’m sure plenty feel otherwise.
I have a build with 20 corrupted strength, 15 corrupted vitality and yeah I can say it’s really not worth it unless the idea is to be able to cast spells without neeeding to gather corruption first. You’re heavily gimping yourself and none of the perks are particularly useful and much of a replacement for what you have without corruption.
I don’t have any authority, as firstly it turns out that even without it the best named thralls can solo pretty much everything but also I like to do content with friends without thralls.
That said, it is kind of funny anyway so I am keeping it for the hilarity. It also makes me weaker in dungeons which is nice for a change.
