Crafting the Hunter's Tent

It seems to me that he Hunter’s Tent would be best crafted by the player, since, on a cold and stormy night in the wilds, there is no Craftsman available to make the tent.

Agreed and would be a valuable asset to be able to craft while in the wild as a temporary shelter from sandstorms in the exiled lands potentially for newer players who haven’t unlocked sandstorm masks.

Yes, it is strange that it requires an Artisan’s Bench to make. I can see it requiring a “Construction Hammer” (or more realistically, a hatchet and/or knife for wood-working) – but it should be something you can craft in the wilderness provided you have the necessary tools and ingredients (wood and branches, hides or cloth, twine or rope, etc.).

Having said that, I do like the tent. And I like the fact that it provides full shelter in certain spots, to protect against sandstorms.

It is probably meant to be crafted at home and then assembled in the desired location.
If you go camping, you buy a tent in the town, you don’t build your own by gathering materials while camping xD

Sure, but if I buy a tent, I want aluminum poles and a waterproofed canvas.

If I’m crucified naked in the desert and I’m trying to stay alive until I reach the next town with a department store, I’ll build a shelter out of any raw materials I have available. Building an improvised shelter is a very useful, even vital, skill to have for unplanned camping trips (e.g. plane crashes, shipwrecks, or being exiled by an evil Stygian sorcerer).

So from this perspective, I think a hand-crafted lean-to made of whichever branches with leaves, moss, dead animals etc. one can find, makes sense.

Hmmm, makes sense …
