Crafting Thralls dying at base while I'm logged off

Bug Description:

just lost another 5 crafting thralls at my base. I’ve lost around 20 crafter thralls that just ‘died’ with no reason since I started on this server a couple weeks ago. All died at base, no loot bag decay. Ruling out other players are killing my thralls since this is a PVE server. Just came back to Conan after a break and realize that others were having this problem when living thralls was introduced, but figured it has been fixed. Maybe I’m wrong?

Bug Reproduction:

I log off, log back on the next day and my thralls are ‘dead’. All died at around the same location (within 10 proximity).

This might not be a bug.

On our server we saw packs of wolves and sometimes a boar fighting our thralls in the “industrial area”. We added fighters and archers as guards in the area. A few times we have seen those guards fighting a wolf pack while the thralls joined in helping defend the base, and have seen dead wolves in the area when returning from some excursion. Those packs are spawning whenever the server runs even if no players are in the game.

Can you check in event log what killed them, if it is indeed roaming hostile npc or the infamous .2 In the .2 case it is the bug where your hard earned crafters just die, because FC didn’t make the Living Settlements bug free. A lot of traffic on this forum is about that bug, but FC seems unable to fix it and is reluctant to switch living settlements on officials off.

Thank you Pazxu for adding what I should have included. Our private server switched off living settlements very early on when the bug was found. After disabling, there were still preventable deaths.

An other one on Siptah…

I won’t spend 1 cent on FC anymore.

C’mon, are you going to ever fix this? I just lost 2 named crafters.

Until there’s a proper fix here’s a dirty work-around:

1 - place your crafter thralls (+ work stations) in a contained area e.g. I have all my crafting thralls +stations on one floor inside my base with no possible pathing available for the thralls to wander to the lower/outer areas of the base. Remember thralls can use doors so make sure to use walls to block them in. Just to be sure I keep a couple of high level fighters with them just in case something glitches into my base.

2 - disable thrall access to everything except the work stations. That means every single bed, seating, camp fire, mannequin etc.

Since doing the above I haven’t lost a single crafter thrall on both of the official PvE servers I play on.

I did all you said and;

Nothing glides in the base, it is walled, no doors, they just dissapear. And FC is to proud to admit they messed up and are incapable to fix it, so they leave Living settlements on…

I disable everything including benches.

@Pazsu there are a few things that they can interact with that you wouldn’t think they could, like some lighting. Check everything in every base, disable each and every single thing including your own bed(s) and wells outside, leave nothing accessible to them.

I tested this heavily in Beta and that’s the only time I had thralls disappear despite the fact that it was changed quite significantly upon release. Regardless, each one of my thralls gets their own 1 by 1, they have no pathing to anything, everything is turned off. They’re lifeless dolls with HP hiding in closets basically.

Sorry to hear that @Pazsu , only other thing I can suggest is what @Kikigirl said, double check all placeables and turn off thrall interaction with all crafting stations incl. shrines… the stations will still benefit from the thrall crafting bonuses though.
