This is more of a suggestion than anything but it could possibly improve the game as a whole.
When you load up conan you choose between single player, online and so on and within the game you can make your self admin and enter creative mode, creative mode is not needed since you can do everything you want to do in admin mode (with the exception of flying but even that could be added to admin mode)
Instead, what I suggest is to remove creative mode from these and make creative mode a completely separate entity. When you enter creative mode you can choose from a flat map with nothing on it and then using tools and all assets at your disposal, create your own map and set the settings, npcs and more.
Creative mode: Players can solo or team up with friends to build their own world/map with all the assets that go into making the world of conan. From the environment of trees, rocks, mountains, water and more, to the creatures that live in this world. The players can alter the settings on npcs/creatures to adjust how much health they have, how much damage they do and what items they drop. Building the world might seem timely for many players but you could also add a feature that allows players to upload their finished maps online for others to download and play on with friends and maybe online for general public.
You would be able to create areas that act as dungeons/challenge areas for pve play or if you wish to build a open world in pvp style, setup the game as such in settings and design your entire map around pvp with of course some creatures on the map to gather items from.
Having creative mode separate from the main game would make the main game less unstable since admin panel can do everything for you.
Creative mode would give the developers the option to just focus on creating new assets for creative mode rather than the main game itself. They could introduce them in battle passes or as free content or even dlcs.
With the power of creative mode if the game was stable enough and not crashing and no latency issues, it would pull in more players and make the current players/community much happier, extending the current longevity of conan into the future.
Let me stop you right there…
That mode already exists… and it’s called Unreal Editor… and it comes with every single feature you listed
So download the devkit and make a map if you wish to with all the trees and mountains and lakes you want and then distribute it to your friends and play on it
thats not entirely what I was saying. The developers could just have creative mode that allows players to jump on game and select conans creative mode and build their own map/world, they shouldn’t have to look for a 3rd party software like unreal. Just like fortnite has its creative mode, conan could have the same.
That was a nice way of saying that what you’re asking is not possible in any meaningful way in this game.
If there was a game where we could do all of that… then a whole lot of us would certainly not be messing around with the devkit, learning game development techniques and trying to build mods, instead we would do it with that…
Fortnite is on unreal engine 5 and even when it was on 4… they just moved with the versions since that was the point of developing it.
The one we’re stuck on 4.15 already is pushing the limits of network replication just with the building system, since we already have the live equivalent of your request… and that is to build buildings…
Despite all of that, from what I’ve seen the Fortnite creative mode is even more limited than the regular building nature of Conan, it’s just that they have a bunch of colorful prefabs to pick from, I haven’t seen it letting you alter the landscape for example or in any way touch the map other than putting prefabs and trees on it. So you’re not actually starting with a “flat map” but rather a map without buildings (just like Conan, except in Conan you don’t need creative mode to build only a construction hammer and some farming since it’s already part of the game)
Also, Unreal Editor is not necessarily a “3rd party tool”… it’s the editor of unreal engine, the thing the game is made in
That’s a bit too much.
A game with such high level of creativity should be titled “Conan: World Simulator”.
It is clearly not the emphasis of Conan: Exiles.
Personally, I am happy with Creative mod as it is.
Although that would be very cool, it’s probably as cool as it is impossible. You want a new game. Conan is not prepared for what you want in the slightest. If I understood you correctly, you would like a flat world, add a montain here, a river there, a desert somewhere else, build your dungeons, populate them, etc…
That’s NEVER going to happen, as cool as it would be.
Just as a side note, at least on console you can fly with the admin panel. However, by many reasons, the creative mode is very useful. It took me a little while getting used to it, but now I wouldn’t go back.
