Every game should have a Battle Royale is the current meme. While it may not be a feature that was ever planned, it is not a terrible idea. After listening to many of the PvP’ers suggesting a feature to be able to visit other servers to ‘bring the fight’ to other Alpha’s, but not willing to abandon their own progress, this seems like a way to appease all sides. This feature would work well for those on PVE-C servers too, since they want to fight, but not lose all progress.
There are 2 ways to go about this in the Exiled Lands. Making a simple Colosseum with 1v1 and group battles would be the easier and simplest method, while using different Biomes as different ‘War Maps’ would be much harder to implement. Everybody in the arena should have end game gear and levels, and use the attributes of your main character (or arena character if they make it a separate server).
Colosseum fights should start you off with the armor of your choice (light, medium or heavy) as well as weapon, but should omit orbs and special arrows from being used. It would be a typical pvp battle with limited heals (or none) and no place to run.
War Map battles would be much larger, longer and multitudes more complex. You’d select a map or be randomly placed in one (different biome for each map) with a band of allies, all at max level. You’d then have to run around and gather to create fortifications and armor/weapons. Gathering rates would be increased significantly and crafting times cut to a fraction of vanilla. After a set time (30 minutes to a couple hours) the kills and deaths would be added up and a winner declared.
Many more details and wishlist options could be added for the War Map idea, but it hardly seems a feasible project (although it would be what most PVP want). Colosseum’s however, would not be out of the question and should keep people more interested for a longer period. I know these ideas aren’t everything to everybody, so tell me: What would you like to see?
