what does he want from me?
No one ever knows. You’ll get used to it.
This one can attempt to interpret if you would like.
The response made a form of sense in this one’s mind.
Whether that understanding matches what was intended is another question entirely tho.
But in all seriousness the loot tables are screwed beyond belief and it is not even funny at how much high end stuff they toss at you even at the early stages of the game.
But maybe this was done to combat the fact that:
I mean, if at any point in time you log in and you base has gone BOOM because you simply had … you know… A LIFE … well maybe they felt that they needed to compensate your ability to quickly rebuild by raining end game loot on your like it was Halloween candy? Is that really the solution? NO! Ending offline raiding would be a better solution but you know… “that’s hard!”
Well if they can’t solve offline raiding… Then again I don’t think they actually think that offline raiding is even a problem for that matter.
And considering they straight up refuse to even answer any question regarding the rampant cheating / hacking going on for the last how many years I assume they simply consider it to be a feature at this point.
@Archivist I do not play pvp, well not in years now anyway. But I do play on private servers and I almost always play as a solo.
I don’t really have an issue with this. As in I don’t generally have anyone talking to me or offering me “friendly suggestions”. But I also tend to honestly ignore chat and listen to music while I am playing so maybe they do and I am just not paying attention. Point is, it have never been a problem on my end.
There are some great mods out there! And there are some that I avoid like the plague!!! Like seriously, there are certain mods that if they are installed on a server I straight up WILL NOT JOIN THAT SERVER! So I can get your point here to a degree, but no all mods are bad, it really depends on which ones and what they are doing / for. If you are playing on a straight up pvp server, I really don’t see the need for any.
The only servers I have seen these on were RP servers, but I usually ignore these and or toss them out because they are utterly unnecessary. Totally agree with you here, they serve no purpose at all, especially not with the ridiculous loot tables we currently have.
But personally, I would not ever play on an official server again. ESPECIALLY an official PvP server. I have NEVER ONCE run into any of the BS that goes on in those servers on any of the private servers I have played on. Not once!
So although I cannot answer your question for you, what I can say is simply this. There is no simple or easy answer. Funcom does not give a damned about their servers (even back in the days of Age of Conan they never cared one bit about what happened on their servers, well they did for a short time but once they rather suddenly and abruptly gave up on that and their servers over there became much like these). So if you cannot trust the Funcom servers, that really only leaves you with A). Solo/Co-Op play, B). Searching for a Private server that fits YOU, which could take a long time, or C). coughing up the money to run your own Private server (not even going to suggest that). Like I said, there is no simple answer, and likely no good one either.
please do
Totally and in Contrast, Frost Giants just drop ice and black ice mostly, while skeletons even drop food
This is as best as this one deciphers.
It may be inaccurate.
Over the hill,
past time, past point
You already have your answer, you know you have your answer. But you are for some reason reluctant to acknowledge that.
Just got rid of…
That which is outdated, even barely, is discarded.
Licensing, established trend, money, Fiat, added value/market rate
The financial processes in place in industry, across national and economical borders and styles, do not favour long term games, they chase only the new thing, even then, they monetize at every turn, regardless of the merit of the core game.
So, the crude estimation this one has from all this is…
You’ve already decided, but you’re holding back.
Take a look at the way the wind is blowing, the problems here could just as easily be the problems anywhere and modern business practices don’t synchronize with the out come you are hoping for.
That is what this one basically understood.
But again, all communication is imperfect and this one’s efforts are not exception.
Not that it matters, because this one is not even sane adjacent, but this one is only barely less confident of this understanding than of those with most other posters on this forum.
I salute you for even trying. I’ve basically given up hope in this case. Dzonatas seems to be capable of producing mostly grammatically valid sentences, but they often appear to have no relevance to the topic everyone else is discussing. It’s like a poorly designed LLM. A random text generator.
Either they’re doing it on purpose and being very creative, or their grip on reality is like the grip of gravity on dead Exiled Lands rhinos.
I may regret this, but I’m thinking about giving CE another chance, but not on the official I suppose. So if anyone can show me EU based, decent and not so much modded server, I would be grateful.
This one has a fractured mind anyway.
And has learned a few different languages along the way.
It’s all a very confused cacophony up there and that’s before the extra cranial material was added and decades later extracted.
And as this one often posts in what may be generously considered gibberish adjacent…
These factors give this one a feeling of responsibility to parse where they can.
That is, if this one can.
There is no guarantee that any of this one interpretations are accurate.
But as someone who read upside down and spoke backwards for a few formative years, this one cannot leave what this one perceives as valid points sealed away behind misunderstanding.
Oh, and this one over explains.
In short, where ever there is some sort of translation situation, of this one is able, they should at least try.
Also, and this may seem odd…
Most of their posts make (a) sense to this one.
Perhaps not the sense they intended, but they are often intuitive enough from this one’s somewhat… unique perspective.
Again, this is assuming that this one’s understanding isn’t just projection.
If you join his discord (for the passwords and rules),
@Wak4863 maintains a fairly close to vanilla server of good and decent humans.
PvE, Exiled Lands and Siptah.
PC and PStato.
While he is based on the U.S. his servers show as being EU.
Well at least that makes sense, they have no way to digest it after all.
Not reluctant, no.
Waiting for an outcome? Holding back?
I’m still not discussing “how”.
Have a good day!
I received an invitation to a proper private server, but thank You very much for your answer and suggestion!
Speaking from experience, the voices in your head aren’t real… But sometimes they have some really good ideas.
Like when I found myself in the op’s position my response was to become a billionaire and fund/develop the one perfect game myself. Granted I’m still working on the billionaire part…
It is not because you are paranoid that they arent there to get you, they say.
Which brings also another interesting phrase:
“It is not always wrong a conclusion drawn from faulty reasoning.”
Such a deep philosophical discussion revolving around the Delphic utterances of our inscrutable friend. I’m trying to decide what it reminds me of. Is it “The Life of Brian”? Or maybe it’s the Ruler from “The Restaurant at the End of the Universe”? A little from Column A, a little from Column B…
Sprinkle a little bit of Vorlon into the mix.
Thank you all for valid and kind responses! I took me some time to think through how this all affects me and my playstyle.
I realized that I actually enjoy getting all the stuff back when I lose it, while trying another ways to get better in hiding stuff and even being forced to change base spot and build something new.
That is actually also why I get bored on PvE at some point - not only that those servers are crowded with various buildings, but sooner or later one builds and does everything he wanted to do, and there is basically nothing else to do. Some people got it like I only enjoy PvP, but this is not the case - as I said, I have experience in playing ALL the modes of Conan Exiles, but because I’ve already played so much, sometimes I needs some diversity in these matters. So when I play too much PvE for longer period of time, I start to crave some more challenge. Pity that there is almost no real challenge in PvP except of trying to find new ways to outsmart griefers. And some of them are already working.
About the original post and what made me to share it with you guys:
After two days of pouting after the exploiter attack I went back on that server to check damage. I’ve found out that he only destroyed the necessary building pieces to get inside the base, but that he also didn’t take everything and even left horses alive. So I realized it was just a person who wanted to have some fun in his own way, which is basically raiding others and that is what the game is here for as well. Everyone plays it different way, it’s just shame that some do so with using various exploits.
I am also considering invitation to Xevyr’s server, but after some thinking I decided this is not the right time to do this, because the server has many mods, although most of them subtle, but I don’t want to give up refreshing or casual playing on other servers and I don’t want to juggle with mod enabling/disabling all the time.
So I started fresh on more PvP servers, on which I have already reached lvl 60 before, and every day I play some on more of them - so in the case I lose stuff on one server, I can put it to ice a bit and focus on another. So far so good It’s true that these days everything is so easily coming by in matters of resources, and the journey to get everything is more entertaining than having everything safe and accomplished all the time and having nothing else to do.
I wish you the best of luck @Archivist.
One final note though:
That is not something that you ever need to manually do. The game does that for you automatically. For example, if you do not have any mods currently and you attempt to join @Xevyr’s server the game will download all necessary mods and then restart the client, automatically logging into said server again (this time with said mods enabled and in the proper order). One you log out of the game (as in close the game out) you go back to YOUR default (aka in your case no mods). You now have two options, you can click on “continue” which would automatically enable those mods and in that order as well as load you back into that server without needing you to even search for it or anything, or you can “enter the game” like normal which would put you at your default setting (no mods enabled) and you would have to choose PvP, PvE-C, or PvE and then choose which server to connect to. So again, you really don’t need to worry about juggling any mods, the game does all that for you.
But as long as you are happy with the choice you have made that is the #1 most important thing!!!
