I just started using the Dedicated Server Launcher to start a new enhanced Exiled Lands server. But when I try to start a server for Siptah, under the new UE5 Enhanced, it gives me an error of “The map specified on the commandline ‘/Game/DLC_EXT/DLC_Siptah/Maps/DLC_Isle_of_Siptah’ could not be found. Would you like to load the default map instead?”. Is Siptah not available for the Enhanced version of the game, yet?
In Enhanced, Siptah is now part of the main map. Basically, when you start the Exiled Lands, that gives you both (assuming you own the DLC, which you clearly do). Characters can then transfer between maps by finding Adherents of the Outer Dark around the map (basically teleport points). Pixelcave has a video on youtube covering where to find them if you want spoilers for that.
Oh cool. That wasn’t there when I started this character, so I hadn’t seen it. Definitely seems like the right way to go - if players are starting fresh, they should have the option of either map. (Aside from anything else, it helps reduce this idea that Siptah is ‘endgame content’ that I’ve seen claimed a few times.) Either way, our friend here needs only to load their server with the one map (that contains both) rather than still needing to have separate servers for EL and Siptah - but I believe you’d know more about that than I do (if I remember rightly, you run a dedicated server?).
Ah okay, I was expecting it to be a whole different server. I usually run servers for my friends and I so we can play Conan, Ark, etc…
Yeah, maybe something in the dedi server launcher thread, but that’d be something that needs to be looked for. As you say, there’s so much info flying around right now that it’s easy to miss things (or just get overwhelmed…)
Thanks for the explanation ![]()
My guess on the Berserker is it was probably seen as too easy a way to get a guaranteed top tier thrall. Apparently there are a couple of areas around the mounds where it can still spawn, but yeah losing that one is frustrating.
Valis I have no idea about, but I’ve seen a view hypotheses floating around - one suggested maybe there’s a plan for a Hanuman dungeon at some point, another suggested maybe he’s intended to be the next ‘hero’ for the age of heroes stuff. I don’t know. Again, it might just be that it was considered too easy a way to get early game silent legion stuff.![]()
But yeah, we are certainly lacking actual explanations for these changes. I tend to be of the perspective that there’s probably a reason somewhere, and hopefully it’s to set up for good things to come. I know the Inflexion boss has hinted at ‘big plans’ on discord, but no info on what those might possibly involve. However, he has said they were working on this update in secret for about 16 months (and lurking to pick up all manner of info on bugs and other issues, which is why a lot of fixes made it in - maybe they saw something that pushed them towards these changes as well, or maybe they want to set up for something else
)
