Doorframe Cannot Support Roof Corner

Game mode: Online official
Type of issue: Bug
Server type: PvE
Region: North America

While building a little T1 shack this evening, I discovered that a Sandstone Door Frame wouldn’t support either type of Thatched Roof Corner. A Sandstone Wall or Sandstone Window frame would, but if I tried adding a roof corner above a doorframe it wouldn’t place, and if I performed a side-grade from a wall or window to a door frame, it would collapse. This in spite of the fact that the wall/window/doorframe would have 100 stability.

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:

  1. At one corner of your foundation, place a Sandstone Door Frame.
  2. Attempt to place a Thatched Roof Corner (inverted or regular above it, and observe that it won’t place.
  3. Try a Sandstone Window Frame or Wall instead and observe that the Thatched Roof Corner installs without issue.
  4. Side-grade the wall/window into a doorframe, and observe as the roof corner collapses.

Tricky. This one had to make me think, I guess I don’t know sockets as well as I think. But it’s a socket problem. Reported up the grape vein. Thanks Larathiel

I did not because this is not a structure I’m overly invested in, but I wanted to demonstrate and report what is clearly unintended behavior. Thanks for the suggestion though, may be useful to others.

That’s odd, I’ve got a small 2x2 sandstone structure with thatch corners and two door frames. Maybe it’s because I’m playing single-player with mods?

If there is a wall next to the door frame, that’s probably why

Or a door in the frame? It used to be that you had to remove the door to place even a ceiling above it, but I thought that had been solved.
