Bug Description:
Efficient Harvesting is not giving double resources on last hit. I have placed enough attribute points into expertise to get the efficient harvest skill that is suppose to double the resources on your last hit. When I gather Stone and Coal I have notice that they are not giving twice as many resouces on my last hit.
Bug Reproduction:
Regardless of what kind of pick I use or even a pick axe as I am gathering Stone and coal the last hit is the same as the other hits. Right now I am usoing a still pick and it is giving me about 20 to 22 stone per hit. My last hit is that same number
The perk’s functionality should at least be looked at.
I always have that perk, but have doubts that it works all the time. I do get double resources in many cases, but maybe not for all situations or materials.
Maybe - just maybe - it works for rare resources, but not for stone and wood. I usually get double harvest for special stuff like hearts with the Set knife, glands from sandbeasts and so on. But when harvesting stone, which is pretty consistent to observe, the game doesn’t seem to give a big final harvest.
I’ve been keeping an eye on it recently and it’s definitely been working on stone and wood for me. Also PC Singleplayer - but modded, so may be impacting my results.
The last time it was causing me a problem was with brimstone (specifically at shattered springs).
I’m wondering if maybe the tool tier could be playing a part - currently I’m using steel tools and experiencing no issues (that I’ve noticed) - when I had the brimstone problem I was using either star-metal or obsidian.
I’ve added it to my list of stuff to test in my unmodded save.
Whatever the case, I definitely agree with this. There’s been too many times that something has seemed off.
It works as intended still and is still worth having. The problem is the hard worker perk making you need “half” the amount of hits to harvest. What happens is that nodes that normally need 5 hits to harvest without it now take 3 but the final hit only gives half the mats cause half of 5 is 2.5. This causes that 3rd hit to look like you’re not getting double if you don’t realize what’s happening. You are getting double but you’re only getting double of half.
This also applies to pretty much any node that normally needs any odd number of hits to harvest.
