Hey guys ! I used to break meteorites with 1 explosive arrow, but i tried today with 3 arrows and it didn’t break… As this been patched ? thanks !
I just tried it on PC, with Bessie’s Bow it took two explosive arrows to crack the shell.

Certainly! 23 health dmg, 24 armor pen (just for ref)
Sometimes the meteors are bugged, after a few arrows, if it doesn;t crack, you may need to leave and re-render to see if that fixes the bug

I use 1 tar orb and 1 demon fire orb. Cracks the meteor in one shot every time. And extreamly cheap to make compared to the arrows.

Really? Someone said it takes 6 tar orbs minimum and 1 demon fire orb. I guess I have been doing it wrong!
I don’t think the quality of bow matters. I use a low lvl bow and it takes me 1~2 shots to crack the shell.
Any mods on the bow?
Update: last meteorite took 3 shots. I let each one burn out before shooting. Fun fact: an explosive arrow can kill a Bighorn Sheep (if it stands still).
Before the meteorite “fix” you would toss 3 to 4 grease orbs and then a fire orb at the meteor and wait, and even then it was a 50 / 50 chance it wouldn’t crack. After the fix, 1 fire orb or 1 flaming arrow would do it. Ive noticed that sometimes I have to use 2 if its been on the ground for awhile. Only very recently did I use 3 arrows and one didn’t break, so maybe the glitch is back. Best stock up while you can.
While testing, my control was always 1 gas orb, 1 fire orb. It worked every time, regardless of the age of the meteorite shower. Keep in mind, if a meteor event is 6 hours 30 minutes, 2 full hours of it will have inactive meteors. As in, even if they’re visible by some rendering glitch, they are not accessible.
Last week I made 3 trips for Star Metal. During two of those trips I found 1 unbreakable shell each time. 1st time, because I didn’t know about the bug, I used a full stack (25) of oil orb and maybe 6 fire orbs. Second time I quit after 4 explosive arrows. The orbs got too heavy so I switched, even though they are much more expensive.
This makes a lot of sense… I wish the glitch was no longer a factor.
did a run last night, flawless khitan bow, charged shot cracked each one open with 1 shot.
