Extreme performance issues

Since the patch I and my clansmates have been facing some extreme lag and rubber banding. Weve got a ping under 70 but whenever we pass a box the screen freezes for 20 seconds, monsters spring up out of nowhere, I’ve fought floating swords, and have had my character rubber band like crazy when trying to roll or move in combat due to an unseen obstacle.

Bases take forever to load now too, but they do load in larger portions than they used too.

for me on a private server, strobing lag induced texture loss is makin it look like ps2 graphics.

Hello @jesstheripper, could you share a few additional details with us in order to determine what could be behind the performance issues:

  • Server Number
  • PS4 Model
  • HDD or SSD
  • Wired or Wireless connection
  • Is it stable playing other demanding games?
  • Does it exhibit any signs of overheating?
  • Do you also have performance issues playing Single Player or in a different server?

Ill get the server number once I get home, but:

it’s a 1 terabyte hdd, brand new with additional ssd storage

the console runs everything else fine, from the Witcher 3 to no mans sky, etc.

It’s not overheating

Its a wireless connection

I’ll try out single player asap for a comparison

the Ping on the server is usually around 60 to 70.

Ill run a cable tonight to see if that boosts performance too.
