This has been going on for quite some time. May very well be another legacy bug.

Agree, it’s still around, but only shows up for me on servers. SP is stormbug free for me. 
May or may not be a clue.
But it’s especially disturbing when run around on EL, and it’s happening quiet often. Was hoping that some new drivers would change something, but nope. Still a thing.
Sure, i can try mod it out, but anybody wish or can’t use mods.

Been my experience regualr sands storms happen far more frequently on officials and privet servers.
