I have no mods installed, I just bought the game on steam with the new dlc bundle. I can start the game get to the menus, and create a character but I can’t go further than that. After naming my exile, the game is put into a loading screen and upon loading, it crashes. “Fatal Error” or something of the sort, no specific crash code or anything. I thought maybe a. Mod was installed but I never downloaded any mods considering I’ve only played the Demo when it was free for like a week or so. I’ve verified the game integrity to no avail. I don’t know what to do, I’m not quite ready to give up and get a refund just yet. Will give this like a week (or however long I have to get a refund) if it’s not fixed and no one can help I’m getting a refund and saying screw it. Hope someone can help! I even installed battleye even though I didn’t care for it and would rather play on unofficial servers or solo anyways, even that launch doesn’t make a difference. Pls help.
If your game crashes, usually you get a crash report folder similar to the one highlighted:
Inside the crash report folder, you can find ConanSanbox.log text file, which can provide some further details.
If you don’t have a crash folder like the one highlighted, you can check the ConanSanbox.log in the main folder:
The location of these files is:
\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Saved\Logs
Please check the last few lines of the log. If you still can’t figure out why it is crashing, you can either provide us with the full log or in case you have any privacy concerns about people seeing your ID & IP, you can provide a snippet of the log with the last 20 lines before the crash + the crash itself.
When you are testing the game, make sure you have no other apps running in order to eliminate any possible interference, turn off any overlay you may have enabled, you can also try disabling any anti-virus you may have for this test.
Just to be on the safe side, check this folder as well and if you have any file called modlist.txt, delete it:
\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Mods
Another possible reason could be that your save/database is corrupted. If this is a brand new save, you can go ahead and delete game.db and DLC_Siptah.db from \steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Saved
If you want to keep your old databases, before deleting those two files, make a copy of the entire saved folder to some other location.
