Fatal Error on startup after intro cinematic

Bug Description:
The game crashes immediately after the intro cutscene. I get an error message in my pastebin which is: Fatal error! Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x00000008 !0x0000000000000000

Bug Reproduction:
I open the game through steam. I click on launch and get through the opening titles, but as soon as the intro cinematic with conan is finished the game goes to the main menu and tries to connect to funcom. Within seconds I get the error message: Fatal error! Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x00000008 !0x0000000000000000 And the screen goes black, a fatal error message pops up and the game closes. I have no mods. I have verified the game files. I have clean installed three times, once on an SSD, twice on my basic C drive. I have updated drivers. I have repairs my C++ redistributables. I’ve tried both with and without mods just to test it. The same issue regardless. I cannot even get into single player or a server because the game crashes before I get the chance to interact with the menu.

Thank you for reaching out to us. By any chance did you ever have mods installed with the game?

In the meantime, in order to assist you if that’s the case, please delete the files named “modlist.txt” and “servermodlist.txt” from your game folders.

Please let us know if the issue persists.

Hi there.

I did have mods installed at first, but I have since uninstalled them and done a clean installation of the game in order to try and get it to work.

I deleted both of those files but the issue still persists.

I’m still having this same issue, does anyone else have any work arounds or anything I can use in the meantime while I wait for a game patch?
