Fed up with the launcher ? Do this

Find in the local files (Steam browse local files):
ConanSandbox\Binaries\Win64

And pin your desired Conansandbox.exe (or the BE) to the taskbar and run it there.

Not using the launcher not only prevents from being shoved ads (YT creator forcefeeding does constitute ad), it also gets the game to start faster and run better.

You mean this? This tiny little window I see for all of a second before I click launch?
Sort of defines petty doesn’t it?
Seems a phantom issue to me.

Starts faster and runs better sounds like something you could use actually. Assuming it does of course.

To those of us on limited data plans skipping the auto playing videos without having to click the dot and fast forward through them every time would be worthwhile.

Fed up with Funcom’s launcher? Try a different one. BUGLE, the Butt-Ugly Game Launcher for Exiles, has some features that might make your life easier:

  • Better server browser. You can browse the server list from BUGLE, without waiting for the game to start. Use BUGLE’s powerful server filter to find a server with your preferred settings. Select the server where you want to play, click “Join”, and the game will launch connecting to that server, without having to go through any in-game menus.
  • Better mod manager. Not only will BUGLE allow you to pick which mods to activate and in which order, it will allow you to save and load mod lists, so you can play on different modded servers with minimal hassle. Hosting your own server? You can copy the mod list to clipboard and paste it into the Dedicated Server Launcher. Using non-Steam mods? Just put them in the Mods directory of your Conan Exiles installation and BUGLE will recognize them and allow you to include them and exclude them from your mod list.
  • Single-player save game management. If you prefer the single-player mode, you can use BUGLE to make backups of your single-player games and load them back at will. You can also edit all the single-player settings without having to start the game. and import and export those settings, so you can apply them to different saves.

You can see the full list of features and the installation instructions in the BUGLE thread.

The problem with the launcher is that it is a “chromium” generic application that shows a internal coded browser window, which is not much practical to restrict from outside. It requires you to block everything and then allow the common browser to access things, which is too much work for something they could just put a “Goddam” setting to turn off.

They have a X account, they have a blog, they have N forms of promoting their chosen creators to unfairly get out the ones who convey the content in a way they want, and try to suppress the ones they dont. Using the launcher for that is kinda overkill.

It is like the “reverse effect” of ad abuse. You end up getting annoyed and actively avoiding the things you are bombarded with advertising of.

I stopped using things like Trivago because the ads are annoying af.

The only thing that actually got me to pay because of ads was YT, because it really worth the Premium. But I even canceled Prime Video because they keep inserting ads of THEIR OWN movies. And often movies I would never watch.

There is a point in which these things gotta stop.

I pray to Crom every day for Steam to ban third party launchers.
I want Steam to be my only launcher and only account I need to sign into.
