Female thrall (return of the) breast size bug

It seems like the old bug we had in the past, where the breast size of female thralls would change upon deployment, has returned.

I actually spotted it earlier, but this “issue” got buried under the plethora of other, more pressing ones.

Either the pre-deployment previous doesn’t showcase the real size of the chest area for the female thralls - or they get a radical plastic surgery (sorcery…?) in the split second between pre- and after-deployment state:

Better angle:

As it brings normal, human-like female models into the “not realistically possible” territory - could we please get the normal female body types back?

While pre-placement and post-placement should not be different, I’d rather ask for an Orb of Nergal for thralls option. If we could plastic sorcery our thralls into any appearance we want, then placement consistency wouldn’t matter much.

Could you imagine the player base if you could create your own thrall look on a Cimmerian Berzerker thrall?

The body sliders such as breast sizes for NPCs seem bugged in general. They can spawn well above the limit in player character creation of 1.5, which already looks comically enormous and not like a real woman, but even moreso when they are at 1.6-1.7 and are above it. Maybe you have caught an example of this.

I regularly fight enemies that look like they could have come out of a Skyrim Nexus Mods showcase with how cartoonish their proportions are. It’s hard to take seriously and really affects the game’s atmosphere how silly it looks.

What you see should be what you get when placing a thrall, and NPCs should stay within player limits and tend toward the average values of them.

While this one tirelessly agrees that bringing thralls to the Orb of Nergal is a deeply held desire…

In the meantime, it would be nice if the silicone were left out of the Exiled Lands, or if the contents matched the wrapper (or rather, the thrall marched the preview).

Has it even been gone to be returning ?

When I came across an old post where someone else mentioned the bug with thrall body values before when I was looking into it, which seems possibly related to this issue with placement (that itself wouldn’t be so bad if the values didn’t get randomised to such extremes past normal limits), it was spoken of as being new.

I am a newer player, so I wasn’t around before to confirm that, but I take that as being the game did originally have “normal, human-like female models.” The models look great when the presets don’t glitch out to such extremes, after all.

It is worth noting it affects more than breast sizes. It’s just not as noticeable with other parts that get messed up.

I agree, though I feel the ability to change a thrall’s appearance should be race locked. That way you can’t change a thrall so much that it’s unrecognizable. For example Darfari is dark skinned with darker hair. Cimmerians are slightly tanned with light brown to dark brown hair, but must have blue eyes. That sorta thing. Basically, they’re measured by the same parameters that the game uses to randomize a thrall’s appearance.

This one must object.
In Howard’s lore Darfari have a somewhat high instance of Albinism.

Further, if we are using something blatantly sorcerous, and by definition unnatural, the bit should be able to make very unusual combinations.

Of course, this assumes the Orb of Nergal.

If we just have a barber or something similar to that, something mundane, then this one absolutely agrees with having harder locked parameters.

Conan Exiles is a game about the sword and sorcery genre, and exaggerated physical attributes (and sex drive) are a trope in that genre. Steroids and silicone are the backbone of any real-life representation of Howard’s work and its derivates.

Buuuuut maybe that isn’t the best aspect of it, and things should be a bit more adult. As in “adult-reasonable”, not in “adult-adult”.

Sex sells, but it’s Conan Exiles, not Conan XXXiles.

Or in short: yeah, turn down the melons a bit, please.

Boobs arrive to the fight 5 minutes before the thrall does. Would also explain the lack of fall damage with this update.:joy:

What you may be experiencing is “bra padding” Some cloths, especially the Relic Hunters outfit either increases boob size or is modeled to make them appear larger like a padded bra. Put a relic hunter shirt on your flat chested beauty and see if that changes it back to what you thought you were kidnapping.

Yes, this!

All I was really hoping for was to change crafter thrall and/or generally thrall appearance etc., not this mess we got now.

The AI in CE just seems not suitable for a ‘Living Settlement’ as that would imply NPCs with more sense and capabilities such as reacting to threats by either fleeing, barricading and keeping doors closed, fighting back etc., not just standing around locked in an emote stance or wandering around aimlessly getting themselves killed or teleporting themselves to the spirit in the sky.

Any who, more variety in Thrall’s would be great and much appreciated and getting what you seeing in the pre-placement outline doesn’t seem to be too much to ask for. At least it would then give me a choice if I wanted to keep the over voluptuous one or maybe offer her to someone who might appreciate it more than me.

Whatever works, but I was thinking changes to facial features as well. I just don’t think we should be changing their ENTIRE look. It feels strange to have a completely different thrall come out of there.

The orb of Nergal is strange.
It’s moliating and vicissituding sorcery.

That said, lesser magics or such could give lesser flexibility.

This one does understand the concern, but we can already make Godbreaker armour look like a bathrobe and rename Thralls.
What is shown on the outside is already divorced from their stat spread.

Some time ago an acquaintance on a PvP server renamed their Zerkers and Snowhunters to Tessa the Blade.
Does it actually matter?
No, but it gave a couple of funny moments.

I’m sorry to report that this problem just, uh, expanded some more. Just had two female thralls, a tanner and an arch priest, who were normal sized when initially placed, immediately balloon up after finishing an animation at a crafting bench. Official server so no mods.

Unless this can also randomly work in the other direction then it may well mean that all female crafter thralls are doomed to this fate eventually.

Agreed, but id just rather keep it that way.

Not sure why this is any different than an entirely different player coming from the orb but ok?
If thralls get the option to have the orb used on them they should get the same options as players get using it. Makes no sense otherwise.
