Subject: Addressing Lag and Exploits in PvP Servers
I’ve been a long-time player of Conan Exiles and have greatly enjoyed the game over the years. However, I feel compelled to address an issue that has been plaguing the PvP experience for far too long: the constant lag caused by various factors, including high-ping players and exploits like lag switches.
These issues make PvP gameplay frustrating and, at times, completely unplayable. Combat becomes unreliable, and the lag can give unfair advantages to certain players—whether intentional or not. With over 6,000 hours spent on PvP servers and experience playing with some of the best console players, I’ve seen this issue affect everyone trying to enjoy competitive gameplay. Sadly, I’ve also been in parties with some of these players and played alongside others. From my experience, nearly all competitive clans on PlayStation have access to lag switches, and it completely kills the gameplay.
One solution that could greatly improve the situation is introducing a maximum allowed ping on official servers. This feature is already available on boosted servers, so it’s clearly feasible. A ping cap would help:
• Reduce the impact of players with unstable connections on overall server performance.
• Deter lag-switching exploits that rely on poor connection stability.
• Provide a more consistent and fair experience for all players.
This is not a complicated addition but would go a long way in improving PvP. If Funcom wants to retain its PvP community, addressing these issues should be a priority. While I appreciate the updates and new features being added to the game, the PvP side feels neglected, and this is an area where a simple change could make a big difference.
I hope you consider implementing this or similar solutions to improve the quality of PvP gameplay. The community is passionate about this game and deserves an environment where skill and strategy matter more than connection exploits.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Poseidon
