They still have not made a hard decision on the thralls quantity they will give us a heads up probably 2 weeks. Plenty of time to sort through your stock of followers.
From what they’ve said so far, if your clan’s follower count is over the cap – for any reason – and the culling option is active on the server, you get a notice that your clan is over the cap and that a random follower will be deleted in 30 minutes. This repeats until you’re within the cap.
So, in your example, if you have 97 thralls and the 10th member leaves, you should get a notice. If there’s nobody online to see the notice, the game doesn’t care. If you’re not within the cap in 30 minutes, a random follower gets deleted. This process will continue until you’re down to 95.
TL;DR: If you’re not online, 2 random thralls will get deleted over the span of an hour.
PS: The last time I logged onto an official server, the follower cap wasn’t active yet.
This is kind of funny and anyone is free to correct me if I’m wrong here.
Base for a clan is 50, +5 per player, making it 55, so:
A solo player with no clan can only have 5?, this doesn’t sound right?
A 1 man clan is 55, so what’s stopping a 10 man clan that can only have 100 max to break up into 10 - 1 man clans that can have now 550?
This whole thing doesn’t make sense to me, what was the point here? I mean I know it’s still a step forward (kind of) cause I have seen 1 man clans with hundreds of thralls/pets/horses, but still, I disband the clan, everything people own reverts back to the original owner, form 10 clans and cheat the cap by 450 pets? lol? idk hahaha
Once the new system is active good by thralls every half hour until new maximum is obtained @Iorail. I tried it on my server warns you when you place a thrall then randomly thrall says I didn’t want to end like this.
Why not? (Strictly PvE talk here) I can still leave doors open for people to go in and out of a buildings, and drop materials they can pick up and vice versa, they can drop stuff for me, everyone can still use everyone’s map rooms and go together to any dungeon adventure? I mean idk, it is what it is, I’m just saying.
Wouldn’t this be even worst for pvp? More bases more lag all because people will have to maximize their thrall/pet’s count?
Meh, we will have to wait and see when this comes to live servers and wait for people to circumvent and then see the results of it. I was just typing out loud
No, a solo player can still have 55, because it counts as a 1-player clan even if you haven’t created the clan.
The inconveniences of trying to work with someone outside your clan:
can’t share crafting stations or storage
trading and exchange of goods must happen when both parties are online
you can’t refresh each other’s builds
you can’t command each other’s followers
friendly fire from the other player’s followers and vice versa (it’s ridiculously strong)
DISCLAIMER: I’m not defending Funcom’s decision, because I play PVE-C and hate the fact that they added disincentives to form a clan. I’m just clarifying details.
It would be ideal though if someone from the Dev team can acknowledge. I know of several people who hit max quota on thralls on specific servers. Even the server settings show 55 + 5 per Member.
Yes, hard cap, your guild has 100, someone leaves your new limit is 95, if you have 97 thralls, your clan can’t place new till you drop below 95.
Testlive is 55 for me as an solo player, I believe as soon as I form a clan its still 55.
I am wondering if I bring my 55 to your clan and that is way over the limit, what happens?
