Frequency of cats and treasurer utterances

For goodness’ sake, would you please drastically cut how often cats meow and treasurers echo through the entire base? This should add a LITTLE flavor to your base; not overwhelm you to the point you simply take them out quickly enough. Not being able to endure the constant noise keeps me from having my cats, my KITTIES! That is criminal!

The reduction in frequency of said sounds needs to be dramatic, like, down 90 percent; they should sound off organically, every now and again; please consider this request, it really is utterly ridiculous the way it is set up now; it’s… embarrassing as much as it is unbearable.

I agree, that dude needs way more voicelines, ability to turn off or reduction. It seriously is annoying and not the first time brought up.

The cats… I like the idea that it is a staffers cat but holy hot damn those yowls.

I am sure it has been mentioned before, but I am going to keep hammering, regardless of how many voices have sounded off before mine =] (Friendly tone, non confrontational, but conversational). I feel compelled to do something. In fact, the more times it comes up the better chance for it to be modified by the devs, no? Aw hell, what do I know… at least it is off my chest.

You know @Boulderkin, I love my little kitties. But I have to agree with you, they are WAY too loud in game! There should be an in game slider for them! #notallcats are this loud!

As for the treasurer… there is a simple reason that a mod exist to shut him up. :rofl: This is the exiled lands after all, I should be able to cut out his tongue for the criminal chatter he insistently prattles on about… AT INSANE VOLUMES!

So I have to support you completely on both of these!

I dont have it anymore (on steam now, previously game pass) but the spooky tree with the cawing birds was also quite annoying, and it was a shame because it was really cool, but i just couldn’t stand the constant bird noises, if it was once in a while, would have been ok

I’m playing on PS5 cats used to drive me nuts the ones in my lap can’t get away from. Of late been noticing them reading this post I realize I adjusting my headset to hear my team mates that must be muffeling felines :cat2:

Looks like I am late to the party on this one. And I agree. The issue is the the sheer frequency of the cat cries and the treasure coffer’s dialogue, they are just WAY to frequent and need to be dialled back.

This cast my mind back to several years ago when the Ambient Sounds feature was added to followers to make the players bases feel more alive. For any members who were not members of the community back then, this meant thralls would cough, yawn, sneeze, groan, etc while pets would dispense their relevant noises. I recall I was one of the few members who supported this addition* which was greeted with almost unanimous condemnation and negative feedback. The reason I genuinely believe it was so poorly received was, just as we see now, the sheer frequency with which the followers made their sounds. And I recall that at the time many members conveyed it was like a veritable cacophony of sounds.

The same rings true here and now on this issue. The cat cries and coffer’s statements are not bad per se, they just happen too often and we need a reduction in frequency, say once or twice during the entire time we are logged in. Not on every couple of minutes. It is very off putting.
