It is great to use some of the shaggai beez in base defence, but why do they have to make so high annoying sounds… you can literally have them 100 meters away, and still hear them nonstop… while a 100 berserkers that is 2 meters away from me is totally mute… atleast lower the distance noice on em It can be traumatizing when spending time in base to listen to them nonstop… same goes for the Cho cho sounds (lower the noice sounds distance on em… please… for the sake of our ears
And also lessen the frequency of the Screamy McSkully Face Spiders screams, lol god those things just core into your inner ear
(yes i call them that as i cant find the name anywhere lol let’s just make Screamy McSkully Face Spider it’s lore name)
the horses are very loud too and using a elephant as follower is horror ^^
Screw it while we’re at it, carpenters, oh man it gets to you after a while in a small base
Yeah, I don’t agree about turning down pets… animals make noise… But why do carpenters and blacksmiths have to pound and saw when they actually have no jobs going. Just looking busy for the boss-man or something? Too strange…
Yes, I know. But those animals do that. It’s their nature. I had hyenas for awhile. They yip and yap for about an hour and then shut up for a few, then again for another hour or so. Yup, that’s what hyenas do. Beehives too. I raise bees (in real life), they’re quiet at night but otherwise not. I haven’t checked if bees are quiet at night in the game - but I tell ya one thing: bees don’t sound like that - the devs have used fly swarm sounds for the bees. And who knows what mystical hovering shaggai sound like?? Maybe the devs want them noisy - as it’s incredibly hard to see them in most settings.
Anyways, I don’t care. If you do that’s cool - I’m not against you caring or even suggesting a fix. But I posted because I totally agreed about the carpenters and smithies.
The Shaggai are PVP alarm systems. They make a noise when an enemy is near. If you are playing PVE, it’s pointless to have them…as they are annoying to listen too, lol.
They are designed to be PVP alarm systems. That’s why they are noisy.
If you don’t play PVP, then you wouldn’t know the true use for them. No need to be rude.
Yup noise need to be turned down or an option for it for sure, especially the drones.
Remember when they gave all idle thralls idle sounds……ohhhhh man that ended so fast the next patch
but I’m confused where are you apparently rude?
Didn’t see you do anything rude in your messages towards this other poster “claiming” your being rude
no make them louder. on one of the pvp servers i was on the clans would troll each other by putting 30 or 40 of them in front of other peoples bases. pretty much the only thing they are good for. imagine hearing all that racket outside your base then having to either kite a npc to them or wait till raid time to kill them. good times, lol
Shaggai Warriors are actually pretty good, but there’s only so much of that noise I can take. Mammoth snorting snuffles aren’t as irritating.
now that the pain wheel works only if there is a slave inside, it would also be nice if the tables will only work when pressing play.
While I understand, I disagree - at least it would need some sort of idle animation added. Otherwise bases will wind up looking static and dead.
I leveled a Shaggai Warrior to max, and got used to hearing the constant shrill chittering while adventuring. But after I was done I found it very difficult to post him somewhere that the noise wouldn’t get on my nerves.
If the sound range were reduced, I could set him guarding the wall on one end of the base, and it wouldn’t set my teeth on edge while in the workshops on the other end of the base. Instead I left him guarding some remote temple that I only make brief visits to.
Sure, sounds perfect to me! If no one is making anything in your base then it should indeed look static. Some benches already have stools - just make the inactive dudes sit on them. Even sitting up on the crafting bench itself might be fun, like a bored kid on a kitchen countertop. Sounds right to me. No work = no animation = no sounds!
So long as they fidget from time to time, that’d be the sort of ‘inactive animations’ I mean, sitting or leaning on the bench etc sounds good. (And if I need more ‘activity/life’ in my base, I can always use mods to get it). The sounds stopping I suspect might prove more difficult (somehow) than we think - at least in singleplayer after you’ve used a furnace or campfire/stove it continues to play the fire-crackling sound even when it’s not on (until you logout and back in again - basically restart the server). I suspect that might mean the crafters would stand/sit around being idle but the sounds might continue anyway - worst of both worlds
Yeah, hehe, a rump-scratch or a stretch and yawn once in awhile would be kinda cool.
Yeah, pretty sure the sounds are completely independent and unrelated (in code) to any animations that do or do not take place. Pretty sure those are separate calls.
BTW, I wonder what the occasional T-Poses are all about. Kinda stumps me.
Yeah, I get those from time to time as well. I always figured it’s something not loading correctly (not that I have any knowledge to base that on). (I imagine you already know, but just in case - if you pull them out of the bench and then stick them back in, it fixes the pose and they go back to normal.)
Oh, good to know, I hadn’t tried that. It doesn’t bother me though - it’s just a curiosity.
