I was built across from Telith’s Island on a little hill and not too far from another player. His pets were always killing the boars that spawned between us and his Golem’s harvesting rock, but I can live with that. The other day he expanded his base a little closer to mine and built a walkway around the area. No problem, I can go around instead of going through. Yesterday I got on and thought someone had started a purge nearby because I heard the horn that used to announce purges and drums. I finally figured out that he had a big Stygian horn and a big Stygian drum on the walkway platforms with a couple of thralls using them constantly. And they are LOUD. I ended up moving my base across the lake to a less populated area with not quite as nice a view just to get away from it. Funcom, can you at the very least lower the volume on those items a bit? They are extremely annoying right now, even inside my house.
Giving you that authentic immersive annoying neighbor experience.
Personally, I love the noise they make, and I have both in my base. If you’re in audio distance to your neighbor, that’s too close IMO. The sound may hit you first but over time the lag will be the worse effect.
We weren’t that close together when I built. We aren’t within audible distance now.
Hello guys, I can’t find information on how I could make the slaves sound, on the Stygian horns, it would be a great help if one of you could explain it to me, thank you
I have no idea, but now that I’ve moved they are turned off.
Reminds this one of the tactics we used down in Panama back in the late '80s.
Remember kids, Loud is one of the five basic torture groups.
Just place them there like if it was a chair, @Triton30 . Same for drums.
When you pick up your thrall and hoover it near, the correct position will light up in green. Place it there ( it will snap).
At least you don’t have a cat? Caterwauling is… not so great. They picked the most annoying cat sounds that would have driven me to train my cat or get rid of it.
Dig up an old Barney the dinosaur dvd and crank it up to max, put it on repeat. A few hours of that theme song and your neighbour will get the hint
It doesn’t work for me, nor does it light up, maybe because I’m in pvp or the horn is not stygian?
Yes, this is no longer purring, but some kind of growling or grunting.
Cats walk and growl))
Not only do cats never purr while walking, but only when they lie down, relax, or when they are petted. So they also turned up the volume so that it sounded like a lion’s roar.
I was amused by this topic yesterday , now I know how the writer feels
Note the small teleporter about in the middle - it’s ours and has been there for a long time.
Everything around it has only been there a few days.
First they blocked access from the Mounds with a closed base (on the PVE server).
then they started building temples around
and yesterday (I think) they completely walled us in with an anti-climb wall.
I’ve been playing on this server for almost 3 years now and this is the second time I’ve sent a report on someone in all that time, otherwise it’s always been a friendly and relaxed server where everyone was considerate of others…
Well, to be fair to the OP, he did mention that the other person built closer to him after they had both already been living there and then put up the horn and drum just to be annoying. So he wasn’t originally too close, the other person expanded and used a dirty tactic to force him to move away to take over even more land. And it worked!
Can’t really fault them for the real life experience the provide!!!
Did you buy this horn? This can only be done with special purchased Stygian musical instruments.
Went by a base the other day that had several horns and drums all going. my first thought was “that dev doesn’t have kids or they’d know not to give children toy horns”. I swear funcom just hands people greafing tools.
I didn’t buy it, what a shame
it will appears again on bazaar surelly
