Freya's Quest - Eight Hours?

I finished Freya’s quest earlier today and I really liked it. Actually really liked Freya’s journey and going through her struggles, but please, can someone answer me why we have to wait eight hours in between quest steps?! It is insane that we have to wait eight hours to do the next thing, and it’ll make thralling her again really, really tedious if she dies. Like she did for me because I got too cocky and decided to fight an enemy from the Age of Calamitous mod that spews a deadly gas when it dies. It’s my fault really but it still hurt when she died after everything we’ve been through. And how much trouble it’d be to get her back.

I spawned her in my single player game and she didn’t have the stats she gets after her quest, so I killed her. Please someone answer why the quest has to take eight hours for the next step. Aside from that annoyance, the story is really good.

Seems obvious to me. Main reason would be to force you to pace yourself. One absolute truth I learned from years of MMOs is people will blast through weeks worth of content in less than a day if you let them and then complain about the lack of content.

“Story? Lore? Quests? Roleplay? What is this BS? Just gimme the rewards already. Wait, is that it? How come there’s so little new content in this update? This game sucks!”

I can see that, but does the time limit still persist when you have to do it a second time? Because then you’ll have already gone through the quest the intended way the first time.
I’m a sucker for gaming so I play for multiple hours a day.

True, but in this scale of things, a break measured in hours is just an annoyance, not significant pacing. Producing a day’s worth of playable content will always take months, so this issue will never be solved.
